وَمَا And not wamā (it) is kāna for a believing man limu'minin and not walā (for) a believing woman mu'minatin when idhā Allah has decided qaḍā Allah has decided l-lahu and His Messenger warasūluhu a matter amran that an (there) should be yakūna for them lahumu (any) choice l-khiyaratu about min their affair amrihim And whoever waman disobeys yaʿṣi Allah l-laha and His Messenger warasūlahu certainly faqad he (has) strayed ḍalla (into) error ḍalālan clear mubīnan
It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allāh and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allāh and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
وَإِذْ And when wa-idh you said taqūlu to the one lilladhī Allah bestowed favor anʿama Allah bestowed favor l-lahu on him ʿalayhi and you bestowed favor wa-anʿamta on him ʿalayhi Keep amsik to yourself ʿalayka your wife zawjaka and fear wa-ittaqi Allah l-laha But you concealed watukh'fī within fī yourself nafsika what mā Allah l-lahu (was to) disclose mub'dīhi And you fear watakhshā the people l-nāsa while Allah wal-lahu has more right aḥaqqu that an you (should) fear Him takhshāhu So when falammā ended qaḍā Zaid zaydun from her min'hā necessary (formalities) waṭaran We married her to you zawwajnākahā so that likay not lā there be yakūna on ʿalā the believers l-mu'minīna any discomfort ḥarajun concerning fī the wives azwāji (of) their adopted sons adʿiyāihim when idhā they have ended qaḍaw from them min'hunna necessary (formalities) waṭaran And is wakāna (the) Command amru (of) Allah l-lahi accomplished mafʿūlan
And [remember, O Muḥammad], when you said to the one on whom Allāh bestowed favor and you bestowed favor,1 "Keep your wife and fear Allāh," while you concealed within yourself that which Allāh is to disclose.2 And you feared the people,3 while Allāh has more right that you fear Him.4 So when Zayd had no longer any need for her, We married her to you in order that there not be upon the believers any discomfort [i.e., guilt] concerning the wives of their claimed [i.e., adopted] sons when they no longer have need of them. And ever is the command [i.e., decree] of Allāh accomplished.
مَّا Not mā (there can) be kāna upon ʿalā the Prophet l-nabiyi any min discomfort ḥarajin in what fīmā Allah has imposed faraḍa Allah has imposed l-lahu on him lahu (That is the) Way sunnata (of) Allah l-lahi concerning fī those who alladhīna passed away khalaw before min before qablu And is wakāna (the) Command amru (of) Allah l-lahi a decree qadaran destined maqdūran
There is not to be upon the Prophet any discomfort concerning that which Allāh has imposed upon him.1 [This is] the established way of Allāh with those [prophets] who have passed on before. And ever is the command of Allāh a destiny decreed.
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna convey yuballighūna (the) Messages risālāti (of) Allah l-lahi and fear Him wayakhshawnahu and (do) not walā fear yakhshawna anyone aḥadan except illā Allah l-laha And sufficient is Allah wakafā And sufficient is Allah bil-lahi (as) a Reckoner ḥasīban
[Allāh praises] those who convey the messages of Allāh1 and fear Him and do not fear anyone but Allāh. And sufficient is Allāh as Accountant.

Muḥammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allāh and seal [i.e., last] of the prophets. And ever is Allāh, of all things, Knowing.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe yāayyuhā O you who believe alladhīna O you who believe āmanū Remember udh'kurū Allah l-laha (with) remembrance dhik'ran much kathīran
O you who have believed, remember Allāh with much remembrance
وَسَبِّحُوهُ And glorify Him wasabbiḥūhu morning buk'ratan and evening wa-aṣīlan
And exalt Him morning and afternoon.

It is He who confers blessing upon you,1 and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful.
