The Power

القدر
إِنَّآ Indeed, We innā revealed it anzalnāhu in fī (the) Night laylati (of) Power l-qadri
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.
وَمَآ And what wamā can make you know adrāka what mā (the) Night laylatu (of) Power (is) l-qadri
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
لَيْلَةُ (The) Night laylatu (of) Power l-qadri (is) better khayrun than min a thousand alfi month(s) shahrin
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
تَنَزَّلُ Descend tanazzalu the Angels l-malāikatu and the Spirit wal-rūḥu therein fīhā by (the) permission bi-idh'ni (of) their Lord rabbihim for min every kulli affair amrin
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.1
سَلَـٰمٌ Peace salāmun it (is) hiya until ḥattā (the) emergence maṭlaʿi (of) the dawn l-fajri
Peace it is1 until the emergence of dawn.
