وَمَآ

And whatever

wamā

أُوتِيتُم

you have been given

ūtītum

مِّن

from

min

شَىْءٍۢ

things

shayin

فَمَتَـٰعُ

(is) an enjoyment

famatāʿu

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

(of the) life

l-ḥayati

ٱلدُّنْيَا

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

وَزِينَتُهَا ۚ

and its adornment

wazīnatuhā

وَمَا

And what

wamā

عِندَ

(is) with

ʿinda

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

خَيْرٌۭ

(is) better

khayrun

وَأَبْقَىٰٓ ۚ

and more lasting

wa-abqā

أَفَلَا

So (will) not

afalā

تَعْقِلُونَ

you use intellect

taʿqilūna

٦٠

And whatever thing you [people] have been given - it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allāh is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?

— Saheeh International

أَفَمَن

Then is (he) whom

afaman

وَعَدْنَـٰهُ

We have promised him

waʿadnāhu

وَعْدًا

a promise

waʿdan

حَسَنًۭا

good

ḥasanan

فَهُوَ

and he

fahuwa

لَـٰقِيهِ

(will) meet it

lāqīhi

كَمَن

like (the one) whom

kaman

مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُ

We provided him

mattaʿnāhu

مَتَـٰعَ

enjoyment

matāʿa

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

(of the) life

l-ḥayati

ٱلدُّنْيَا

(of) the world

l-dun'yā

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

هُوَ

he

huwa

يَوْمَ

(on the) Day

yawma

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

(of) the Resurrection

l-qiyāmati

مِنَ

(will be) among

mina

ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ

those presented

l-muḥ'ḍarīna

٦١

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will meet [i.e., obtain] like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]?

— Saheeh International

وَيَوْمَ

And (the) Day

wayawma

يُنَادِيهِمْ

He will call them

yunādīhim

فَيَقُولُ

and say

fayaqūlu

أَيْنَ

Where

ayna

شُرَكَآءِىَ

(are) My partners

shurakāiya

ٱلَّذِينَ

whom

alladhīna

كُنتُمْ

you used (to)

kuntum

تَزْعُمُونَ

claim

tazʿumūna

٦٢

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim?"

— Saheeh International

قَالَ

(Will) say

qāla

ٱلَّذِينَ

those

alladhīna

حَقَّ

(has) come true

ḥaqqa

عَلَيْهِمُ

against whom

ʿalayhimu

ٱلْقَوْلُ

the Word

l-qawlu

رَبَّنَا

Our Lord

rabbanā

هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ

These

hāulāi

ٱلَّذِينَ

(are) those whom

alladhīna

أَغْوَيْنَآ

we led astray

aghwaynā

أَغْوَيْنَـٰهُمْ

We led them astray

aghwaynāhum

كَمَا

as

kamā

غَوَيْنَا ۖ

we were astray

ghawaynā

تَبَرَّأْنَآ

We declare our innocence

tabarranā

إِلَيْكَ ۖ

before You

ilayka

مَا

Not

كَانُوٓا۟

they used (to)

kānū

إِيَّانَا

worship us

iyyānā

يَعْبُدُونَ

worship us

yaʿbudūna

٦٣

Those upon whom the word1 will have come into effect will say, "Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship [i.e., obey] us."2

— Saheeh International

وَقِيلَ

And it will be said

waqīla

ٱدْعُوا۟

Call

id'ʿū

شُرَكَآءَكُمْ

your partners

shurakāakum

فَدَعَوْهُمْ

And they will call them

fadaʿawhum

فَلَمْ

but not

falam

يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟

they will respond

yastajībū

لَهُمْ

to them

lahum

وَرَأَوُا۟

and they will see

wara-awū

ٱلْعَذَابَ ۚ

the punishment

l-ʿadhāba

لَوْ

If only

law

أَنَّهُمْ

[that] they

annahum

كَانُوا۟

had been

kānū

يَهْتَدُونَ

guided

yahtadūna

٦٤

And it will be said, "Invoke your 'partners,'" and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance!

— Saheeh International

وَيَوْمَ

And (the) Day

wayawma

يُنَادِيهِمْ

He will call them

yunādīhim

فَيَقُولُ

and say

fayaqūlu

مَاذَآ

What

mādhā

أَجَبْتُمُ

did you answer

ajabtumu

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

the Messengers

l-mur'salīna

٦٥

And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, "What did you answer the messengers?"

— Saheeh International

فَعَمِيَتْ

But (will) be obscure

faʿamiyat

عَلَيْهِمُ

to them

ʿalayhimu

ٱلْأَنۢبَآءُ

the information

l-anbāu

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

that day

yawma-idhin

فَهُمْ

so they

fahum

لَا

will not ask one another

يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

will not ask one another

yatasāalūna

٦٦

But the information1 will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another.

— Saheeh International

فَأَمَّا

But as for

fa-ammā

مَن

(him) who

man

تَابَ

repented

tāba

وَءَامَنَ

and believed

waāmana

وَعَمِلَ

and did

waʿamila

صَـٰلِحًۭا

righteousness

ṣāliḥan

فَعَسَىٰٓ

then perhaps

faʿasā

أَن

[that]

an

يَكُونَ

he will be

yakūna

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ

the successful ones

l-muf'liḥīna

٦٧

But as for one who had repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is expected [i.e., promised by Allāh] that he will be among the successful.

— Saheeh International

وَرَبُّكَ

And your Lord

warabbuka

يَخْلُقُ

creates

yakhluqu

مَا

what

يَشَآءُ

He wills

yashāu

وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ

and chooses

wayakhtāru

مَا

Not

كَانَ

they have

kāna

لَهُمُ

for them

lahumu

ٱلْخِيَرَةُ ۚ

the choice

l-khiyaratu

سُبْحَـٰنَ

Glory be

sub'ḥāna

ٱللَّهِ

(to) Allah

l-lahi

وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ

and High is He

wataʿālā

عَمَّا

above what

ʿammā

يُشْرِكُونَ

they associate (with Him)

yush'rikūna

٦٨

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allāh and high above what they associate with Him.

— Saheeh International

وَرَبُّكَ

And your Lord

warabbuka

يَعْلَمُ

knows

yaʿlamu

مَا

what

تُكِنُّ

conceals

tukinnu

صُدُورُهُمْ

their breasts

ṣudūruhum

وَمَا

and what

wamā

يُعْلِنُونَ

they declare

yuʿ'linūna

٦٩

And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

— Saheeh International

وَهُوَ

And He

wahuwa

ٱللَّهُ

(is) Allah

l-lahu

لَآ

(there is) no

إِلَـٰهَ

god

ilāha

إِلَّا

but

illā

هُوَ ۖ

He

huwa

لَهُ

To Him

lahu

ٱلْحَمْدُ

(are due) all praises

l-ḥamdu

فِى

in

ٱلْأُولَىٰ

the first

l-ūlā

وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ

and the last

wal-ākhirati

وَلَهُ

And for Him

walahu

ٱلْحُكْمُ

(is) the Decision

l-ḥuk'mu

وَإِلَيْهِ

and to Him

wa-ilayhi

تُرْجَعُونَ

you will be returned

tur'jaʿūna

٧٠

And He is Allāh; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned.

— Saheeh International
