الٓمٓر ۚ Alif Laam Mim Ra alif-lam-meem-ra These til'ka (are) the Verses āyātu (of) the Book l-kitābi And that which wa-alladhī has been revealed unzila to you ilayka from min your Lord rabbika (is) the truth l-ḥaqu but walākinna most akthara (of) the mankind l-nāsi (do) not lā believe yu'minūna
Alif, Lām, Meem, Rā.1 These are the verses of the Book; and what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most of the people do not believe.
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu (is) the One Who alladhī raised rafaʿa the heavens l-samāwāti without bighayri pillars ʿamadin that you see tarawnahā then thumma He established is'tawā on ʿalā the Throne l-ʿarshi and subjected wasakhara the sun l-shamsa and the moon wal-qamara each kullun running yajrī for a term li-ajalin appointed musamman He arranges yudabbiru the matter l-amra He details yufaṣṣilu the Signs l-āyāti so that you may laʿallakum in the meeting biliqāi (with) your Lord rabbikum believe with certainty tūqinūna
It is Allāh who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established Himself above the Throne1 and made subject2 the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain.
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa (is) the One Who alladhī spread madda the earth l-arḍa and placed wajaʿala in it fīhā firm mountains rawāsiya and rivers wa-anhāran and from wamin all kulli (of) the fruits l-thamarāti He made jaʿala in it fīhā pairs zawjayni two ith'nayni He covers yugh'shī the night al-layla (with) the day l-nahāra Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely (are) Signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who ponder yatafakkarūna
And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
وَفِى And in wafī the earth l-arḍi are tracks qiṭaʿun neighboring mutajāwirātun and gardens wajannātun of min grapevines aʿnābin and crops wazarʿun and date-palms wanakhīlun trees (growing) from a single root ṣin'wānun and not waghayru trees (growing) from a single root ṣin'wānin watered yus'qā with water bimāin one wāḥidin but We cause to exceed wanufaḍḍilu some of them baʿḍahā over ʿalā others baʿḍin in fī the fruit l-ukuli Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely (are) Signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who use reason yaʿqilūna
And within the land are neighboring plots and gardens of grapevines and crops and palm trees, [growing] several from a root or otherwise,1 watered with one water; but We make some of them exceed others in [quality of] fruit. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.
۞ وَإِن And if wa-in you (are) astonished taʿjab then astonishing faʿajabun (is) their saying qawluhum When a-idhā we are kunnā dust turāban will we a-innā (be) indeed, in lafī a creation khalqin new jadīdin Those ulāika (are) the ones who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū in their Lord birabbihim and those wa-ulāika the iron chains l-aghlālu (will be) in fī their necks aʿnāqihim those wa-ulāika (are the) companions aṣḥābu (of) the Fire l-nāri they hum in it fīhā (will) abide forever khālidūna
And if you are astonished,1 [O Muḥammad] - then astonishing is their saying, "When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?" Those are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have shackles2 upon their necks, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
