إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna (do) not lā expect yarjūna the meeting with Us liqāanā and are pleased waraḍū with the life bil-ḥayati (of) the world l-dun'yā and feel satisfied wa-iṭ'ma-annū with it bihā and those wa-alladhīna they hum (are) of ʿan Our Signs āyātinā heedless ghāfilūna
Indeed, those who do not expect the meeting with Us and are satisfied with the life of this world and feel secure therein and those who are heedless of Our signs -
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika their abode mawāhumu (will be) the Fire l-nāru for what bimā they used (to) kānū earn yaksibūna
For those their refuge will be the Fire because of what they used to earn.
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna believed āmanū and did waʿamilū good deeds l-ṣāliḥāti (will) guide them yahdīhim their Lord rabbuhum by their faith biīmānihim Will flow tajrī from min underneath them taḥtihimu the rivers l-anhāru in fī Gardens jannāti (of) Delight l-naʿīmi
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - their Lord will guide them because of their faith. Beneath them rivers will flow in the Gardens of Pleasure.
دَعْوَىٰهُمْ Their prayer daʿwāhum therein fīhā (will be), "Glory be to You sub'ḥānaka O Allah l-lahuma And their greeting wataḥiyyatuhum therein (will be) fīhā Peace salāmun And the last waākhiru (of) their call daʿwāhum (will be) [that] ani All the Praise be l-ḥamdu to Allah lillahi Lord rabbi (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
Their call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allāh," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allāh, Lord of the worlds!"
۞ وَلَوْ And if walaw hastens yuʿajjilu (by) Allah l-lahu for the mankind lilnnāsi the evil l-shara (as) He hastens for them is'tiʿ'jālahum the good bil-khayri surely, would have been decreed laquḍiya for them ilayhim their term ajaluhum But We leave fanadharu those who alladhīna (do) not lā expect yarjūna the meeting with Us liqāanā in fī their transgression ṭugh'yānihim wandering blindly yaʿmahūna
And if Allāh was to hasten for the people the evil [they invoke]1 as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been ended for them.2 But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindly.
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā touches massa the man l-insāna the affliction l-ḍuru he calls Us daʿānā (lying) on his side lijanbihi or aw sitting qāʿidan or aw standing qāiman But when falammā We remove kashafnā from him ʿanhu his affliction ḍurrahu he passes on marra as if he ka-an (had) not lam called Us yadʿunā for ilā (the) affliction ḍurrin (that) touched him massahu Thus kadhālika (it) is made fair seeming zuyyina to the extravagant lil'mus'rifīna what mā they used (to) kānū do yaʿmalūna
And when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues [in disobedience] as if he had never called upon Us to [remove] an affliction that touched him. Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing.
وَلَقَدْ And verily walaqad We destroyed ahlaknā the generations l-qurūna before you min before you qablikum when lammā they wronged ẓalamū and came to them wajāathum their Messengers rusuluhum with clear proofs bil-bayināti but not wamā they were kānū to believe liyu'minū Thus kadhālika We recompense najzī the people l-qawma (who are) criminals l-muj'rimīna
And We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.
ثُمَّ Then thumma We made you jaʿalnākum successors khalāifa in fī the earth l-arḍi after them min after them baʿdihim so that We may see linanẓura how kayfa you do taʿmalūna
Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may observe how you will do.
