الٓر ۚ Alif Lam Ra alif-lam-ra These til'ka (are the) verses āyātu (of) the Book l-kitābi the wise l-ḥakīmi
Alif, Lām, Rā.1 These are the verses of the wise2 Book.
أَكَانَ Is it akāna for the mankind lilnnāsi a wonder ʿajaban that an We revealed awḥaynā to ilā a man rajulin from (among) them min'hum that an Warn andhiri the mankind l-nāsa and give glad tidings wabashiri (to) those who alladhīna believe āmanū that anna for them lahum (will be) a respectable position qadama (will be) a respectable position ṣid'qin near ʿinda their Lord rabbihim Said qāla the disbelievers l-kāfirūna Indeed inna this hādhā (is) surely a magician lasāḥirun obvious mubīnun
Have the people been amazed that We revealed [revelation] to a man from among them, [saying], "Warn mankind and give good tidings to those who believe that they will have a [firm] precedence of honor1 with their Lord"? [But] the disbelievers say, "Indeed, this is an obvious magician."
إِنَّ Indeed inna your Lord rabbakumu (is) Allah l-lahu the One Who alladhī created khalaqa the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍa in fī six sittati periods ayyāmin then thumma He established is'tawā on ʿalā the Throne l-ʿarshi disposing yudabbiru the affairs l-amra Not mā (is) any intercessor min (is) any intercessor shafīʿin except illā after min after baʿdi His permission idh'nihi That dhālikumu (is) Allah l-lahu your Lord rabbukum so worship Him fa-uʿ'budūhu Then will not afalā you remember tadhakkarūna
Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne,1 arranging the matter [of His creation]. There is no intercessor except after His permission. That is Allāh, your Lord, so worship Him. Then will you not remember?
إِلَيْهِ To Him ilayhi (will be) your return marjiʿukum [all] jamīʿan Promise waʿda (of) Allah l-lahi (is) true ḥaqqan Indeed, He innahu originates yabda-u the creation l-khalqa then thumma He repeats it yuʿīduhu that He may reward liyajziya those who alladhīna believed āmanū and did waʿamilū the good deeds l-ṣāliḥāti in justice bil-qis'ṭi But those who wa-alladhīna disbelieved kafarū for them lahum (will be) a drink sharābun of min boiling fluids ḥamīmin and a punishment waʿadhābun painful alīmun because bimā they used (to) kānū disbelieve yakfurūna
To Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allāh [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny.
هُوَ He huwa (is) the One Who alladhī made jaʿala the sun l-shamsa a shining light ḍiyāan and the moon wal-qamara a reflected light nūran and determined for it waqaddarahu phases manāzila that you may know litaʿlamū (the) number ʿadada (of) the years l-sinīna and the count (of time) wal-ḥisāba Not mā created khalaqa Allah l-lahu that dhālika except illā in truth bil-ḥaqi He explains yufaṣṣilu the Signs l-āyāti for a people liqawmin (who) know yaʿlamūna
It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allāh has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know.
إِنَّ Indeed inna in fī (the) alternation ikh'tilāfi (of) the night al-layli and the day wal-nahāri and what wamā (has been) created khalaqa (by) Allah l-lahu in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi (are) Signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who are God conscious yattaqūna
Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allāh has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allāh.
