وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad We had brought them ji'nāhum a Book bikitābin which We have explained faṣṣalnāhu with ʿalā knowledge ʿil'min as guidance hudan and mercy waraḥmatan for a people liqawmin who believe yu'minūna
And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge - as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.
هَلْ Do hal they wait yanẓurūna except illā (for) its fulfillment tawīlahu (The) Day yawma (will) come yatī its fulfillment tawīluhu will say yaqūlu those who alladhīna had forgotten it nasūhu from min before qablu Verily qad had come jāat (the) Messengers rusulu (of) our Lord rabbinā with the truth bil-ḥaqi so are (there) fahal for us lanā any min intercessors shufaʿāa so (that) they intercede fayashfaʿū for us lanā or aw we are sent back nuraddu so (that) we do (deeds) fanaʿmala other than ghayra that which alladhī we used to kunnā do naʿmalu Verily qad they lost khasirū themselves anfusahum and strayed waḍalla from them ʿanhum what mā they used to kānū invent yaftarūna
Do they await except its result?1 The Day its result comes, those who had ignored it before will say, "The messengers of our Lord had come with the truth, so are there [now] any intercessors to intercede for us or could we be sent back to do other than what we used to do?" They will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent.
إِنَّ Indeed inna your Lord rabbakumu (is) Allah l-lahu the One Who alladhī created khalaqa the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍa in fī six sittati epochs ayyāmin then thumma He ascended is'tawā on ʿalā the Throne l-ʿarshi He covers yugh'shī the night al-layla (with) the day l-nahāra seeking it yaṭlubuhu rapidly ḥathīthan and the sun wal-shamsa and the moon wal-qamara and the stars wal-nujūma subjected musakharātin by His command bi-amrihi Unquestionably alā for Him lahu (is) the creation l-khalqu and the command wal-amru blessed tabāraka (is) Allah l-lahu Lord rabbu (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne.1 He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
ٱدْعُوا۟ Call upon id'ʿū your Lord rabbakum humbly taḍarruʿan and privately wakhuf'yatan Indeed, He innahu (does) not lā love yuḥibbu the transgressors l-muʿ'tadīna
Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.1
وَلَا And (do) not walā cause corruption tuf'sidū in fī the earth l-arḍi after baʿda its reformation iṣ'lāḥihā And call Him wa-id'ʿūhu (in) fear khawfan and hope waṭamaʿan Indeed inna (the) Mercy raḥmata (of) Allah l-lahi (is) near qarībun for mina the good-doers l-muḥ'sinīna
And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allāh is near to the doers of good.
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa (is) the One Who alladhī sends yur'silu the winds l-riyāḥa (as) glad tidings bush'ran from bayna before yaday His Mercy raḥmatihi until ḥattā when idhā they have carried aqallat clouds saḥāban heavy thiqālan We drive them suq'nāhu to a land libaladin dead mayyitin then We send down fa-anzalnā from it bihi the water l-māa then We bring forth fa-akhrajnā from it bihi (of) min all (kinds) kulli (of) fruits l-thamarāti Thus kadhālika We will bring forth nukh'riju the dead l-mawtā so that you may laʿallakum take heed tadhakkarūna
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall] until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.
