وَنَادَىٰٓ And will call out wanādā (the) companions aṣḥābu (of) Paradise l-janati (to the) companions aṣḥāba (of) the Fire l-nāri that an Indeed qad we found wajadnā what mā (had) promised us waʿadanā our Lord rabbunā true ḥaqqan So have fahal you found wajadttum what mā (was) promised waʿada (by) your Lord rabbukum (to be) true ḥaqqan They will say qālū Yes naʿam Then will announce fa-adhana an announcer mu-adhinun among them baynahum [that] an (The) curse laʿnatu (of) Allah l-lahi (is) on ʿalā the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce among them, "The curse of Allāh shall be upon the wrongdoers
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna hinder yaṣuddūna from ʿan (the) way sabīli (of) Allah l-lahi and seek in it wayabghūnahā crookedness ʿiwajan while they (are) wahum concerning the Hereafter bil-ākhirati disbelievers kāfirūna
Who averted [people] from the way of Allāh and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers."
وَبَيْنَهُمَا And between them wabaynahumā (will be) a partition ḥijābun and on waʿalā the heights l-aʿrāfi (will be) men rijālun recognizing yaʿrifūna all kullan by their marks bisīmāhum And they will call out wanādaw (to the) companions aṣḥāba (of) Paradise l-janati that an Peace salāmun (be) upon you ʿalaykum Not lam they have entered it yadkhulūhā but they wahum hope yaṭmaʿūna
And between them will be a partition [i.e., wall], and on [its] elevations are men1 who recognize all2 by their mark. And they call out to the companions of Paradise, "Peace be upon you." They have not [yet] entered it, but they long intensely.
۞ وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā are turned ṣurifat their eyes abṣāruhum towards til'qāa (the) companions aṣḥābi (of) the Fire l-nāri they (will) say qālū Our Lord rabbanā (Do) not lā place us tajʿalnā with maʿa the people l-qawmi the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."
وَنَادَىٰٓ And (will) call out wanādā (the) companions aṣḥābu (of) the heights l-aʿrāfi (to) men rijālan whom they recognize yaʿrifūnahum by their marks bisīmāhum saying qālū Not mā (has) availed aghnā [to] you ʿankum your gathering jamʿukum and what wamā you were kuntum arrogant (about) tastakbirūna
And the companions of the Elevations will call to men [within Hell] whom they recognize by their mark, saying, "Of no avail to you was your gathering1 and [the fact] that you were arrogant."
أَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ Are these ahāulāi the ones whom alladhīna you had sworn aqsamtum (that) not lā (will) grant them yanāluhumu Allah l-lahu Mercy biraḥmatin Enter ud'khulū Paradise l-janata (There will be) no lā fear khawfun upon you ʿalaykum and not walā you antum will grieve taḥzanūna
[Allāh will say], "Are these1 the ones whom you [inhabitants of Hell] swore that Allāh would never offer them mercy? Enter Paradise, [O people of the Elevations]. No fear will there be concerning you, nor will you grieve."
وَنَادَىٰٓ And (will) call out wanādā (the) companions aṣḥābu (of) the Fire l-nāri (to the) companions aṣḥāba (of) Paradise l-janati [that] an Pour afīḍū upon us ʿalaynā [of] mina (some) water l-māi or aw of what mimmā (has been) provided (to) you razaqakumu (by) Allah l-lahu They (will) say qālū Indeed inna Allah l-laha has forbidden both ḥarramahumā to ʿalā the disbelievers l-kāfirīna
And the companions of the Fire will call to the companions of Paradise, "Pour upon us some water or from whatever Allāh has provided you." They will say, "Indeed, Allāh has forbidden them both to the disbelievers
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna took ittakhadhū their religion dīnahum (as) an amusement lahwan and play walaʿiban and deluded them wagharrathumu the life l-ḥayatu (of) the world l-dun'yā So today fal-yawma We forget them nansāhum as kamā they forgot nasū (the) meeting liqāa (of) their day yawmihim this hādhā and [what] wamā (as) they used to kānū with Our Verses biāyātinā they reject yajḥadūna
Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded." So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.
