قَالَ He (will) say qāla Enter ud'khulū among fī (the) nations umamin (who) qad passed away khalat from min before you qablikum of mina the jinn l-jini and the men wal-insi in fī the Fire l-nāri Every time kullamā entered dakhalat a nation ummatun it cursed laʿanat its sister (nation) ukh'tahā until ḥattā when idhā they had overtaken one another iddārakū in it fīhā all jamīʿan (will) say qālat (the) last of them ukh'rāhum about the first of them liūlāhum Our Lord rabbanā these hāulāi misled us aḍallūnā so give them faātihim punishment ʿadhāban double ḍiʿ'fan of mina the Fire l-nāri He (will) say qāla For each likullin (is) a double ḍiʿ'fun [and] but walākin not lā you know taʿlamūna
[Allāh] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister1 until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them2 will say about the first of them,3 "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire." He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."
وَقَالَتْ And (will) say waqālat (the) first of them ūlāhum to (the) last of them li-ukh'rāhum Then not famā is kāna for you lakum upon us ʿalaynā any min superiority faḍlin so taste fadhūqū the punishment l-ʿadhāba for what bimā you used to kuntum earn taksibūna
And the first of them will say to the last of them, "Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn."
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna denied kadhabū Our Verses biāyātinā and (were) arrogant wa-is'takbarū towards them ʿanhā (will) not lā be opened tufattaḥu for them lahum (the) doors abwābu (of) the heaven l-samāi and not walā they will enter yadkhulūna Paradise l-janata until ḥattā passes yalija the camel l-jamalu through fī (the) eye sammi (of) the needle l-khiyāṭi And thus wakadhālika We recompense najzī the criminals l-muj'rimīna
Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle [i.e., never]. And thus do We recompense the criminals.
لَهُم For them lahum of min (the) Hell jahannama (is) a bed mihādun and from wamin over them fawqihim coverings ghawāshin And thus wakadhālika We recompense najzī the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings [of fire]. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who wa-alladhīna believe āmanū and do waʿamilū [the] righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti not lā We burden nukallifu any soul nafsan except illā (to) its capacity wus'ʿahā Those ulāika (are the) companions aṣḥābu (of) Paradise l-janati they hum in it fīhā (will) abide forever khālidūna
But those who believed and did righteous deeds - We charge no soul except [within] its capacity. Those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.
وَنَزَعْنَا And We will remove wanazaʿnā whatever mā (is) in fī their breasts ṣudūrihim of min malice ghillin Flows tajrī from min underneath them taḥtihimu the rivers l-anhāru And they will say waqālū All the praise l-ḥamdu (is) for Allah lillahi the One Who alladhī guided us hadānā to this lihādhā and not wamā we were kunnā to receive guidance linahtadiya if not lawlā [that] an (had) guided us hadānā Allah l-lahu Certainly laqad came jāat Messengers rusulu (of) our Lord rabbinā with the truth bil-ḥaqi And they will be addressed wanūdū [that] an This til'kumu (is) Paradise l-janatu you have been made to inherit it ūrith'tumūhā for what bimā you used to kuntum do taʿmalūna
And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment,1 [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allāh, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allāh had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do."
