الأعراف
كِتَـٰبٌ (This is) a Book kitābun revealed unzila to you ilayka so (let) not falā be yakun in fī your breast ṣadrika any uneasiness ḥarajun from it min'hu that you warn litundhira with it bihi and a reminder wadhik'rā for the believers lil'mu'minīna
[This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muḥammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers.
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ Follow ittabiʿū what mā has been revealed unzila to you ilaykum from min your Lord rabbikum and (do) not walā follow tattabiʿū from min beside Him dūnihi any allies awliyāa Little qalīlan (is) what mā you remember tadhakkarūna
Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember.
وَكَم And how many wakam of min a city qaryatin We destroyed it ahlaknāhā and came to it fajāahā Our punishment basunā (at) night bayātan or aw (while) they hum were sleeping at noon qāilūna
And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon.
فَمَا Then not famā was kāna their plea daʿwāhum when idh came to them jāahum Our punishment basunā except illā that an they said qālū Indeed, we innā were kunnā wrongdoers ẓālimīna
And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!"
فَلَنَسْـَٔلَنَّ Then surely We will question falanasalanna those (to) whom alladhīna were sent ur'sila to them (Messengers) ilayhim and surely We will question walanasalanna the Messengers l-mur'salīna
Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers.
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ Then surely We will narrate falanaquṣṣanna to them ʿalayhim with knowledge biʿil'min and not wamā were We kunnā absent ghāibīna
Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent.
وَٱلْوَزْنُ And the weighing wal-waznu that day yawma-idhin (will be) the truth l-ḥaqu So whose faman (will be) heavy thaqulat his scales mawāzīnuhu then those fa-ulāika [they] humu (will be) the successful ones l-muf'liḥūna
And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful.
وَمَنْ And (for) those waman (will be) light khaffat his scales mawāzīnuhu so those fa-ulāika (will be) the ones who alladhīna lost khasirū themselves anfusahum because bimā they were kānū to Our Verses biāyātinā (doing) injustice yaẓlimūna
And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad We established you makkannākum in fī the earth l-arḍi and We made wajaʿalnā for you lakum in it fīhā livelihood maʿāyisha Little qalīlan (is) what mā you (are) grateful tashkurūna
And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful.
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad We created you khalaqnākum then thumma We fashioned you ṣawwarnākum Then thumma We said qul'nā to the Angels lil'malāikati Prostrate us'judū to Adam liādama So they prostrated fasajadū except illā Iblis ib'līsa Not lam he was yakun of mina those who prostrated l-sājidīna
And We have certainly created you, [O mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees.1 He was not of those who prostrated.
