وَحَسِبُوٓا۟ And they thought waḥasibū that not allā will be (for them) takūna a trial fit'natun so they became blind faʿamū and they became deaf waṣammū Then thumma turned tāba Allah l-lahu to them ʿalayhim then (again) thumma they became blind ʿamū and they became deaf waṣammū many kathīrun of them min'hum And Allah wal-lahu (is) All-Seer baṣīrun of what bimā they do yaʿmalūna
And they thought there would be no [resulting] punishment, so they became blind and deaf. Then Allāh turned to them in forgiveness; then [again] many of them became blind and deaf. And Allāh is Seeing of what they do.
لَقَدْ Certainly laqad disbelieved kafara those who alladhīna say qālū Indeed inna Allah l-laha He huwa (is) the Messiah l-masīḥu son ub'nu (of) Maryam maryama While said waqāla the Messiah l-masīḥu O Children yābanī (of) Israel is'rāīla Worship uʿ'budū Allah l-laha my Lord rabbī and your Lord warabbakum Indeed, he innahu who man associates partners yush'rik with Allah bil-lahi then surely faqad (has) forbidden ḥarrama Allah l-lahu for him ʿalayhi Paradise l-janata and his abode wamawāhu (will be) the Fire l-nāru And not wamā for the wrongdoers lilẓẓālimīna any min helpers anṣārin
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allāh is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allāh, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allāh - Allāh has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
لَّقَدْ Certainly laqad disbelieved kafara those who alladhīna say qālū Indeed inna Allah l-laha (is the) third thālithu (of) three thalāthatin And (there is) no wamā [of] min god ilāhin except illā (the) God ilāhun (the) One wāḥidun And if wa-in not lam they desist yantahū from what ʿammā they are saying yaqūlūna surely will afflict layamassanna those who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū among them min'hum a punishment ʿadhābun painful alīmun
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allāh is the third of three."1 And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.
أَفَلَا So will not afalā they turn in repentance yatūbūna to ilā Allah l-lahi and seek His forgiveness wayastaghfirūnahu And Allah wal-lahu (is) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun Most Merciful raḥīmun
So will they not repent to Allāh and seek His forgiveness? And Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
مَّا Not mā (is) the Messiah l-masīḥu son ub'nu (of) Maryam maryama but illā a Messenger rasūlun certainly qad had passed khalat from min before him qablihi the Messengers l-rusulu And his mother wa-ummuhu (was) truthful ṣiddīqatun They both used to kānā eat yakulāni [the] food l-ṭaʿāma See unẓur how kayfa We make clear nubayyinu to them lahumu the Signs l-āyāti then thumma see unẓur how annā they are deluded yu'fakūna
The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food.1 Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
قُلْ Say qul Do you worship ataʿbudūna from min besides dūni Allah l-lahi what mā not lā has power yamliku to (cause) you lakum any harm ḍarran and not walā any benefit nafʿan while Allah wal-lahu He huwa (is) the All-Hearing l-samīʿu the All-Knowing l-ʿalīmu
Say, "Do you worship besides Allāh that which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allāh who is the Hearing, the Knowing?"
