وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā it is said qīla to them lahum Come taʿālaw will ask forgiveness yastaghfir for you lakum (the) Messenger rasūlu (of) Allah l-lahi They turn aside lawwaw their heads ruūsahum and you see them wara-aytahum turning away yaṣuddūna while they wahum (are) arrogant mus'takbirūna
And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allāh will ask forgiveness for you," they turn their heads aside and you see them evading while they are arrogant.
سَوَآءٌ (It) is same sawāon for them ʿalayhim whether you ask forgiveness astaghfarta for them lahum or am (do) not lam ask forgiveness tastaghfir for them lahum Never lan will forgive yaghfira Allah l-lahu [to] them lahum Indeed inna Allah l-laha (does) not lā guide yahdī the people l-qawma the defiantly disobedient l-fāsiqīna
It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allāh forgive them. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
هُمُ They humu (are) those who alladhīna say yaqūlūna (Do) not lā spend tunfiqū on ʿalā (those) who man (are) with ʿinda (the) Messenger rasūli (of) Allah l-lahi until ḥattā they disband yanfaḍḍū And for Allah walillahi (are the) treasures khazāinu (of) the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi but walākinna the hypocrites l-munāfiqīna (do) not lā understand yafqahūna
They are the ones who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allāh until they disband." And to Allāh belong the depositories of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.
يَقُولُونَ They say yaqūlūna If la-in we return rajaʿnā to ilā Al-Madinah l-madīnati surely, will expel layukh'rijanna the more honorable l-aʿazu from it min'hā the more humble l-adhala But for Allah walillahi (is) the honor l-ʿizatu and for His Messenger walirasūlihi and for the believers walil'mu'minīna but walākinna the hypocrites l-munāfiqīna (do) not lā know yaʿlamūna
They say, "If we return to al-Madīnah, the more honored [for power] will surely expel therefrom the more humble." And to Allāh belongs [all] honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O yāayyuhā you (who) alladhīna believe āmanū (Let) not lā divert you tul'hikum your wealth amwālukum and not walā your children awlādukum from ʿan (the) remembrance dhik'ri (of) Allah l-lahi And whoever waman does yafʿal that dhālika then those fa-ulāika [they] humu (are) the losers l-khāsirūna
O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allāh. And whoever does that - then those are the losers.
وَأَنفِقُوا۟ And spend wa-anfiqū from min what mā We have provided you razaqnākum from min before qabli [that] an comes yatiya (to) one of you aḥadakumu the death l-mawtu and he says fayaqūla My Lord rabbi Why not lawlā You delay me akhartanī for ilā a term ajalin near qarībin so I would give charity fa-aṣṣaddaqa and be wa-akun among mina the righteous l-ṣāliḥīna
And spend [in the way of Allāh] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be of the righteous."
وَلَن But never walan will (be) delayed yu-akhira (by) Allah l-lahu a soul nafsan when idhā has come jāa its term ajaluhā And Allah wal-lahu (is) All-Aware khabīrun of what bimā you do taʿmalūna
But never will Allāh delay a soul when its time has come. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.
