يُسَبِّحُ Glorifies yusabbiḥu Allah lillahi whatever mā (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and whatever wamā (is) in fī the earth l-arḍi the Sovereign l-maliki the Holy l-qudūsi the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzi the All-Wise l-ḥakīmi
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh,1 the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.2
هُوَ He huwa (is) the One Who alladhī sent baʿatha among fī the unlettered l-umiyīna a Messenger rasūlan from themselves min'hum reciting yatlū to them ʿalayhim His Verses āyātihi and purifying them wayuzakkīhim and teaching them wayuʿallimuhumu the Book l-kitāba and the wisdom wal-ḥik'mata although wa-in they were kānū from min before qablu surely in lafī an error ḍalālin clear mubīnin
It is He who has sent among the unlettered [Arabs] a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the sunnah] - although they were before in clear error -
وَءَاخَرِينَ And others waākharīna among them min'hum who have not yet lammā joined yalḥaqū them bihim and He wahuwa (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika (is the) Bounty faḍlu (of) Allah l-lahi He gives it yu'tīhi (to) whom man He wills yashāu And Allah wal-lahu (is the) Possessor dhū (of) Bounty l-faḍli the Great l-ʿaẓīmi
That is the bounty of Allāh, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allāh is the possessor of great bounty.
مَثَلُ (The) likeness mathalu (of) those who alladhīna were entrusted ḥummilū (with) the Taurat l-tawrāta then thumma not lam they bore it yaḥmilūhā (is) like kamathali the donkey l-ḥimāri who carries yaḥmilu books asfāran Wretched is bi'sa (the) example mathalu (of) the people l-qawmi who alladhīna deny kadhabū (the) Signs biāyāti (of) Allah l-lahi And Allah wal-lahu (does) not lā guide yahdī the people l-qawma the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on1 is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books].2 Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allāh. And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.
قُلْ Say qul O yāayyuhā you (who) alladhīna (are) Jews hādū If in you claim zaʿamtum that you annakum (are) allies awliyāu of Allah lillahi from min excluding dūni the people l-nāsi then wish fatamannawū (for) the death l-mawta if in you are kuntum truthful ṣādiqīna
Say, "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are allies of Allāh, excluding the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful."
وَلَا But not walā they will wish for it yatamannawnahu ever abadan for what bimā (have) sent forth qaddamat their hands aydīhim And Allah wal-lahu (is) All-Knowing ʿalīmun of the wrongdoers bil-ẓālimīna
But they will not wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers.
قُلْ Say qul Indeed inna the death l-mawta which alladhī you flee tafirrūna from it min'hu then surely it fa-innahu (will) meet you mulāqīkum Then thumma you will be sent back turaddūna to ilā (the) All-Knower ʿālimi (of) the unseen l-ghaybi and the witnessed wal-shahādati and He will inform you fayunabbi-ukum [of] what bimā you used to kuntum do taʿmalūna
Say, "Indeed, the death from which you flee - indeed, it will meet you. Then you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you about what you used to do."
