الجاثية
تَنزِيلُ (The) revelation tanzīlu (of) the Book l-kitābi (is) from mina Allah l-lahi the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzi the All-Wise l-ḥakīmi
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
إِنَّ Indeed inna in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi surely (are) Signs laāyātin for the believers lil'mu'minīna
Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers.
وَفِى And in wafī your creation khalqikum and what wamā He disperses yabuthu of min (the) moving creatures dābbatin (are) Signs āyātun for a people liqawmin who are certain yūqinūna
And in the creation of yourselves and what He disperses of moving creatures are signs for people who are certain [in faith].
وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ And (in the) alternation wa-ikh'tilāfi (of) the night al-layli and the day wal-nahāri and what wamā Allah sends down anzala Allah sends down l-lahu from mina the sky l-samāi of min (the) provision riz'qin and gives life fa-aḥyā thereby bihi (to) the earth l-arḍa after baʿda its death mawtihā and (in) directing wataṣrīfi (the) winds l-riyāḥi (are) Signs āyātun for a people liqawmin who reason yaʿqilūna
And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what Allāh sends down from the sky of provision [i.e., rain] and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason.
تِلْكَ These til'ka (are the) Verses āyātu (of) Allah l-lahi We recite them natlūhā to you ʿalayka in truth bil-ḥaqi Then in what fabi-ayyi statement ḥadīthin after baʿda Allah l-lahi and His Verses waāyātihi will they believe yu'minūna
These are the verses of Allāh which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allāh and His verses will they believe?
وَيْلٌۭ Woe waylun to every likulli liar affākin sinful athīmin
Woe to every sinful liar
يَسْمَعُ Who hears yasmaʿu (the) Verses āyāti (of) Allah l-lahi recited tut'lā to him ʿalayhi then thumma persists yuṣirru arrogantly mus'takbiran as if ka-an not lam he heard them yasmaʿhā So give him tidings fabashir'hu (of) a punishment biʿadhābin painful alīmin
Who hears the verses of Allāh recited to him, then persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā he knows ʿalima of min Our Verses āyātinā anything shayan he takes them ittakhadhahā (in) ridicule huzuwan Those ulāika for them lahum (is) a punishment ʿadhābun humiliating muhīnun
And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
مِّن Before them min Before them warāihim (is) Hell jahannamu and not walā will avail yugh'nī them ʿanhum what mā they had earned kasabū anything shayan and not walā what mā they had taken ittakhadhū besides min besides dūni Allah l-lahi (as) protectors awliyāa And for them walahum (is) a punishment ʿadhābun great ʿaẓīmun
Before them1 is Hell, and what they had earned will not avail them at all nor what they had taken besides Allāh as allies. And they will have a great punishment.
هَـٰذَا This hādhā (is) guidance hudan And those who wa-alladhīna disbelieve kafarū in (the) Verses biāyāti (of) their Lord rabbihim for them lahum (is) a punishment ʿadhābun of min filth rij'zin painful alīmun
This [Qur’ān] is guidance. And those who have disbelieved in the verses of their Lord will have a painful punishment of foul nature.
۞ ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu (is) the One Who alladhī subjected sakhara to you lakumu the sea l-baḥra that may sail litajriya the ships l-ful'ku therein fīhi by His Command bi-amrihi and that you may seek walitabtaghū of min His Bounty faḍlihi and that you may walaʿallakum give thanks tashkurūna
It is Allāh who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
وَسَخَّرَ And He has subjected wasakhara to you lakum whatever mā (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and whatever wamā (is) in fī the earth l-arḍi all jamīʿan from Him min'hu Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely are Signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who give thought yatafakkarūna
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
