The Ant

النمل

طسٓ ۚ

Ta Seen

tta-seen

تِلْكَ

These

til'ka

ءَايَـٰتُ

(are the) Verses

āyātu

ٱلْقُرْءَانِ

(of) the Quran

l-qur'āni

وَكِتَابٍۢ

and a Book

wakitābin

مُّبِينٍ

clear

mubīnin

١

Ṭā, Seen.1 These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book

— Saheeh International

هُدًۭى

A guidance

hudan

وَبُشْرَىٰ

and glad tidings

wabush'rā

لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

for the believers

lil'mu'minīna

٢

As guidance and good tidings for the believers

— Saheeh International

ٱلَّذِينَ

Those who

alladhīna

يُقِيمُونَ

establish

yuqīmūna

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

the prayer

l-ṣalata

وَيُؤْتُونَ

and give

wayu'tūna

ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ

zakah

l-zakata

وَهُم

and they

wahum

بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

in the Hereafter

bil-ākhirati

هُمْ

[they]

hum

يُوقِنُونَ

believe with certainty

yūqinūna

٣

Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

— Saheeh International

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

لَا

(do) not

يُؤْمِنُونَ

believe

yu'minūna

بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

in the Hereafter

bil-ākhirati

زَيَّنَّا

We have made fair-seeming

zayyannā

لَهُمْ

to them

lahum

أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ

their deeds

aʿmālahum

فَهُمْ

so they

fahum

يَعْمَهُونَ

wander blindly

yaʿmahūna

٤

Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

— Saheeh International

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ

Those

ulāika

ٱلَّذِينَ

(are) the ones

alladhīna

لَهُمْ

for them

lahum

سُوٓءُ

(is) an evil

sūu

ٱلْعَذَابِ

[the] punishment

l-ʿadhābi

وَهُمْ

and they

wahum

فِى

in

ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ

the Hereafter

l-ākhirati

هُمُ

[they]

humu

ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ

(will be) the greatest losers

l-akhsarūna

٥

Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

— Saheeh International

وَإِنَّكَ

And indeed, you

wa-innaka

لَتُلَقَّى

surely, receive

latulaqqā

ٱلْقُرْءَانَ

the Quran

l-qur'āna

مِن

from [near]

min

لَّدُنْ

from [near]

ladun

حَكِيمٍ

the All-Wise

ḥakīmin

عَلِيمٍ

the All-Knower

ʿalīmin

٦

And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.

— Saheeh International

إِذْ

When

idh

قَالَ

said

qāla

مُوسَىٰ

Musa

mūsā

لِأَهْلِهِۦٓ

to his family

li-ahlihi

إِنِّىٓ

Indeed, I

innī

ءَانَسْتُ

perceive

ānastu

نَارًۭا

a fire

nāran

سَـَٔاتِيكُم

I will bring you

saātīkum

مِّنْهَا

from it

min'hā

بِخَبَرٍ

some information

bikhabarin

أَوْ

or

aw

ءَاتِيكُم

I will bring you

ātīkum

بِشِهَابٍۢ

a torch

bishihābin

قَبَسٍۢ

burning

qabasin

لَّعَلَّكُمْ

so that you may

laʿallakum

تَصْطَلُونَ

warm yourselves

taṣṭalūna

٧

[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."

— Saheeh International

فَلَمَّا

But when

falammā

جَآءَهَا

he came to it

jāahā

نُودِىَ

he was called

nūdiya

أَنۢ

[that]

an

بُورِكَ

Blessed is

būrika

مَن

who

man

فِى

(is) at

ٱلنَّارِ

the fire

l-nāri

وَمَنْ

and whoever

waman

حَوْلَهَا

(is) around it

ḥawlahā

وَسُبْحَـٰنَ

And glory be

wasub'ḥāna

ٱللَّهِ

(to) Allah

l-lahi

رَبِّ

(the) Lord

rabbi

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

(of) the worlds

l-ʿālamīna

٨

But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

— Saheeh International

يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ

O Musa

yāmūsā

إِنَّهُۥٓ

Indeed

innahu

أَنَا

I Am

anā

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

ٱلْعَزِيزُ

the All-Mighty

l-ʿazīzu

ٱلْحَكِيمُ

the All-Wise

l-ḥakīmu

٩

O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

— Saheeh International

وَأَلْقِ

And, "Throw

wa-alqi

عَصَاكَ ۚ

your staff

ʿaṣāka

فَلَمَّا

But when

falammā

رَءَاهَا

he saw it

raāhā

تَهْتَزُّ

moving

tahtazzu

كَأَنَّهَا

as if it

ka-annahā

جَآنٌّۭ

(were) a snake

jānnun

وَلَّىٰ

he turned back

wallā

مُدْبِرًۭا

(in) flight

mud'biran

وَلَمْ

and (did) not

walam

يُعَقِّبْ ۚ

look back

yuʿaqqib

يَـٰمُوسَىٰ

O Musa

yāmūsā

لَا

(Do) not

تَخَفْ

fear

takhaf

إِنِّى

Indeed, [I]

innī

لَا

(do) not

يَخَافُ

fear

yakhāfu

لَدَىَّ

(in) My presence

ladayya

ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

the Messengers

l-mur'salūna

١٠

And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return.1 [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

— Saheeh International

إِلَّا

Except

illā

مَن

who

man

ظَلَمَ

wrongs

ẓalama

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

بَدَّلَ

substitutes

baddala

حُسْنًۢا

good

ḥus'nan

بَعْدَ

after

baʿda

سُوٓءٍۢ

evil

sūin

فَإِنِّى

then indeed, I Am

fa-innī

غَفُورٌۭ

Oft-Forgiving

ghafūrun

رَّحِيمٌۭ

Most Merciful

raḥīmun

١١

Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

— Saheeh International

وَأَدْخِلْ

And enter

wa-adkhil

يَدَكَ

your hand

yadaka

فِى

into

جَيْبِكَ

your bosom

jaybika

تَخْرُجْ

it will come forth

takhruj

بَيْضَآءَ

white

bayḍāa

مِنْ

without

min

غَيْرِ

without

ghayri

سُوٓءٍۢ ۖ

harm

sūin

فِى

(These are) among

تِسْعِ

nine

tis'ʿi

ءَايَـٰتٍ

signs

āyātin

إِلَىٰ

to

ilā

فِرْعَوْنَ

Firaun

fir'ʿawna

وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ ۚ

and his people

waqawmihi

إِنَّهُمْ

Indeed, they

innahum

كَانُوا۟

are

kānū

قَوْمًۭا

a people

qawman

فَـٰسِقِينَ

defiantly disobedient

fāsiqīna

١٢

And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

— Saheeh International

فَلَمَّا

But when

falammā

جَآءَتْهُمْ

came to them

jāathum

ءَايَـٰتُنَا

Our Signs

āyātunā

مُبْصِرَةًۭ

visible

mub'ṣiratan

قَالُوا۟

they said

qālū

هَـٰذَا

This

hādhā

سِحْرٌۭ

(is) a magic

siḥ'run

مُّبِينٌۭ

manifest

mubīnun

١٣

But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

— Saheeh International
