إِنَّمَا Only innamā the believers l-mu'minūna (are) those who alladhīna believe āmanū in Allah bil-lahi and His Messenger warasūlihi and when wa-idhā they are kānū with him maʿahu for ʿalā a matter amrin (of) collective action jāmiʿin not lam they go yadhhabū until ḥattā they (have) asked his permission yastadhinūhu Indeed inna those who alladhīna ask your permission yastadhinūnaka those ulāika [those who] alladhīna believe yu'minūna in Allah bil-lahi and His Messenger warasūlihi So when fa-idhā they ask your permission is'tadhanūka for some libaʿḍi affair of theirs shanihim then give permission fadhan to whom liman you will shi'ta among them min'hum and ask forgiveness wa-is'taghfir for them lahumu (of) Allah l-laha Indeed inna Allah l-laha (is) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun Most Merciful raḥīmun
The believers are only those who believe in Allāh and His Messenger and, when they are [meeting] with him for a matter of common interest, do not depart until they have asked his permission. Indeed, those who ask your permission, [O Muḥammad] - those are the ones who believe in Allāh and His Messenger. So when they ask your permission due to something of their affairs, then give permission to whom you will among them and ask forgiveness for them of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
لَّا (Do) not lā make tajʿalū (the) calling duʿāa (of) the Messenger l-rasūli among you baynakum as (the) call kaduʿāi (of) some of you baʿḍikum (to) others baʿḍan Verily qad Allah knows yaʿlamu Allah knows l-lahu those who alladhīna slip away yatasallalūna among you minkum under shelter liwādhan So let beware falyaḥdhari those who alladhīna oppose yukhālifūna [from] ʿan his orders amrihi lest an befalls them tuṣībahum a trial fit'natun or aw befalls them yuṣībahum a punishment ʿadhābun painful alīmun
Do not make [your] calling of the Messenger among yourselves as the call of one of you to another. Already Allāh knows those of you who slip away, concealed by others. So let those beware who dissent from his [i.e., the Prophet's] order,1 lest fitnah2 strike them or a painful punishment.
أَلَآ No doubt alā Indeed inna to Allah (belongs) lillahi whatever mā (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi Verily qad He knows yaʿlamu what mā you antum (are) on [it] ʿalayhi And (the) Day wayawma they will be returned yur'jaʿūna to Him ilayhi then He will inform them fayunabbi-uhum of what bimā they did ʿamilū And Allah wal-lahu of every bikulli thing shayin (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun
Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Already He knows that upon which you [stand]1 and [knows] the Day2 when they will be returned to Him and He will inform them of what they have done. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.
