وَيَقُولُ And say wayaqūlu those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū You are not lasta a Messenger mur'salan Say qul Sufficient kafā (is) Allah bil-lahi (as) a Witness shahīdan between me baynī and between you wabaynakum and whoever waman [he] has ʿindahu knowledge ʿil'mu (of) the Book l-kitābi
And those who have disbelieved say, "You are not a messenger." Say, [O Muḥammad], "Sufficient is Allāh as Witness between me and you, and [the witness of] whoever has knowledge of the Scripture."1

الٓر ۚ Alif Laam Ra alif-lam-ra A Book kitābun which We have revealed anzalnāhu to you ilayka so that you may bring out litukh'rija the mankind l-nāsa from mina the darkness[es] l-ẓulumāti to ilā the light l-nūri by the permission bi-idh'ni (of) their Lord rabbihim to ilā the Path ṣirāṭi (of) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzi the Praiseworthy l-ḥamīdi
Alif, Lām, Rā.1 [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord - to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy -
ٱللَّهِ Allah al-lahi (is) the One alladhī to Him (belongs) lahu whatever mā (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and whatever wamā (is) in fī the earth l-arḍi And woe wawaylun to the disbelievers lil'kāfirīna from min the punishment ʿadhābin severe shadīdin
Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And woe [i.e., destruction] to the disbelievers from a severe punishment -
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna love more yastaḥibbūna the life l-ḥayata (of) the world l-dun'yā than ʿalā the Hereafter l-ākhirati and hinder wayaṣuddūna from ʿan (the) Path sabīli (of) Allah l-lahi and seek in it wayabghūnahā crookedness ʿiwajan those ulāika [in] fī (are) far astray ḍalālin (are) far astray baʿīdin
The ones who prefer the worldly life over the Hereafter and avert [people] from the way of Allāh, seeking to make it [seem] deviant. Those are in extreme error.
وَمَآ And not wamā We sent arsalnā any min Messenger rasūlin except illā with the language bilisāni (of) his people qawmihi so that he might make clear liyubayyina for them lahum Then Allah lets go astray fayuḍillu Then Allah lets go astray l-lahu whom man He wills yashāu and guides wayahdī whom man He wills yashāu And He wahuwa (is) the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allāh sends astray [thereby] whom He wills1 and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
وَلَقَدْ And verily walaqad We sent arsalnā Musa mūsā with Our Signs biāyātinā that an Bring out akhrij your people qawmaka from mina the darkness[es] l-ẓulumāti to ilā the light l-nūri And remind them wadhakkir'hum of the days bi-ayyāmi (of) Allah l-lahi Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely (are) the signs laāyātin for everyone likulli patient ṣabbārin and thankful shakūrin
And We certainly sent Moses with Our signs, [saying], "Bring out your people from darknesses into the light and remind them of the days1 of Allāh." Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
