Say

هَلْ

Is (there)

hal

مِن

min

شُرَكَآئِكُم

your partners

shurakāikum

مَّن

(any) who

man

يَبْدَؤُا۟

originates

yabda-u

ٱلْخَلْقَ

the creation

l-khalqa

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

يُعِيدُهُۥ ۚ

repeats it

yuʿīduhu

قُلِ

Say

quli

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

يَبْدَؤُا۟

originates

yabda-u

ٱلْخَلْقَ

the creation

l-khalqa

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

يُعِيدُهُۥ ۖ

repeats it

yuʿīduhu

فَأَنَّىٰ

So how

fa-annā

تُؤْفَكُونَ

you are deluded

tu'fakūna

٣٤

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who begins creation and then repeats it?" Say, "Allāh begins creation and then repeats it, so how are you deluded?"

— Saheeh International

أَفَمَن

Is then (he) who

afaman

يَهْدِىٓ

guides

إِلَى

to

ilā

ٱلْحَقِّ

the truth

l-ḥaqi

أَحَقُّ

more worthy

aḥaqqu

أَن

that

an

يُتَّبَعَ

he should be followed

yuttabaʿa

أَمَّن

or (he) who

amman

لَّا

(does) not

يَهِدِّىٓ

guide

yahiddī

إِلَّآ

unless

illā

أَن

[that]

an

يُهْدَىٰ ۖ

he is guided

yuh'dā

فَمَا

Then what

famā

لَكُمْ

(is) for you

lakum

كَيْفَ

how

kayfa

تَحْكُمُونَ

you judge

taḥkumūna

٣٥

Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "Allāh guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge?"

— Saheeh International

وَمَا

And not

wamā

يَتَّبِعُ

follow

yattabiʿu

أَكْثَرُهُمْ

most of them

aktharuhum

إِلَّا

except

illā

ظَنًّا ۚ

assumption

ẓannan

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱلظَّنَّ

the assumption

l-ẓana

لَا

(does) not

يُغْنِى

avail

yugh'nī

مِنَ

against

mina

ٱلْحَقِّ

the truth

l-ḥaqi

شَيْـًٔا ۚ

anything

shayan

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

عَلِيمٌۢ

(is) All-Knower

ʿalīmun

بِمَا

of what

bimā

يَفْعَلُونَ

they do

yafʿalūna

٣٦

And most of them follow not except assumption. Indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what they do.

— Saheeh International

وَمَا

And not

wamā

كَانَ

is

kāna

هَـٰذَا

this

hādhā

ٱلْقُرْءَانُ

the Quran

l-qur'ānu

أَن

that

an

يُفْتَرَىٰ

(it could be) produced

yuf'tarā

مِن

by

min

دُونِ

other than Allah

dūni

ٱللَّهِ

other than Allah

l-lahi

وَلَـٰكِن

but

walākin

تَصْدِيقَ

(it is) a confirmation

taṣdīqa

ٱلَّذِى

(of that) which

alladhī

بَيْنَ

(was) before it

bayna

يَدَيْهِ

(was) before it

yadayhi

وَتَفْصِيلَ

and a detailed explanation

watafṣīla

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

(of) the Book

l-kitābi

لَا

(there is) no

رَيْبَ

doubt

rayba

فِيهِ

in it

fīhi

مِن

from

min

رَّبِّ

(the) Lord

rabbi

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

(of) the worlds

l-ʿālamīna

٣٧

And it was not [possible] for this Qur’ān to be produced by other than Allāh, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt,1 from the Lord of the worlds.

— Saheeh International

أَمْ

Or

am

يَقُولُونَ

(do) they say

ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ

He has invented it

if'tarāhu

قُلْ

Say

qul

فَأْتُوا۟

Then bring

fatū

بِسُورَةٍۢ

a Surah

bisūratin

مِّثْلِهِۦ

like it

mith'lihi

وَٱدْعُوا۟

and call

wa-id'ʿū

مَنِ

whoever

mani

ٱسْتَطَعْتُم

you can

is'taṭaʿtum

مِّن

besides Allah

min

دُونِ

besides Allah

dūni

ٱللَّهِ

besides Allah

l-lahi

إِن

if

in

كُنتُمْ

you are

kuntum

صَـٰدِقِينَ

truthful

ṣādiqīna

٣٨

Or do they say [about the Prophet (ﷺ)], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a sūrah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allāh, if you should be truthful."

— Saheeh International

بَلْ

Nay

bal

كَذَّبُوا۟

they denied

kadhabū

بِمَا

what

bimā

لَمْ

not

lam

يُحِيطُوا۟

they could encompass

yuḥīṭū

بِعِلْمِهِۦ

(of) its knowledge

biʿil'mihi

وَلَمَّا

and not

walammā

يَأْتِهِمْ

has come (to) them

yatihim

تَأْوِيلُهُۥ ۚ

its interpretation

tawīluhu

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

kadhālika

كَذَّبَ

denied

kadhaba

ٱلَّذِينَ

those

alladhīna

مِن

before them

min

قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ

before them

qablihim

فَٱنظُرْ

then see

fa-unẓur

كَيْفَ

how

kayfa

كَانَ

was

kāna

عَـٰقِبَةُ

(the) end

ʿāqibatu

ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

(of) the wrongdoers

l-ẓālimīna

٣٩

Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers.

— Saheeh International

وَمِنْهُم

And of them

wamin'hum

مَّن

(is one) who

man

يُؤْمِنُ

believes

yu'minu

بِهِۦ

in it

bihi

وَمِنْهُم

and of them

wamin'hum

مَّن

(is one) who

man

لَّا

(does) not

يُؤْمِنُ

believe

yu'minu

بِهِۦ ۚ

in it

bihi

وَرَبُّكَ

And your Lord

warabbuka

أَعْلَمُ

(is) All-Knower

aʿlamu

بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

of the corrupters

bil-muf'sidīna

٤٠

And of them are those who believe in it, and of them are those who do not believe in it. And your Lord is most knowing of the corrupters.

— Saheeh International

وَإِن

And if

wa-in

كَذَّبُوكَ

they deny you

kadhabūka

فَقُل

then say

faqul

لِّى

For me

عَمَلِى

(are) my deeds

ʿamalī

وَلَكُمْ

and for you

walakum

عَمَلُكُمْ ۖ

(are) your deeds

ʿamalukum

أَنتُم

You

antum

بَرِيٓـُٔونَ

(are) disassociated

barīūna

مِمَّآ

from what

mimmā

أَعْمَلُ

I do

aʿmalu

وَأَنَا۠

and I am

wa-anā

بَرِىٓءٌۭ

disassociated

barīon

مِّمَّا

from what

mimmā

تَعْمَلُونَ

you do

taʿmalūna

٤١

And if they deny you, [O Muḥammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do."

— Saheeh International

وَمِنْهُم

And among them

wamin'hum

مَّن

(are some) who

man

يَسْتَمِعُونَ

listen

yastamiʿūna

إِلَيْكَ ۚ

to you

ilayka

أَفَأَنتَ

But (can) you

afa-anta

تُسْمِعُ

cause the deaf to hear

tus'miʿu

ٱلصُّمَّ

cause the deaf to hear

l-ṣuma

وَلَوْ

even though

walaw

كَانُوا۟

they [were]

kānū

لَا

(do) not

يَعْقِلُونَ

use reason

yaʿqilūna

٤٢

And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear [i.e., benefit from this hearing], although they will not use reason?

— Saheeh International
