إِنَّ Indeed inna my protector waliyyiya (is) Allah l-lahu the One Who alladhī revealed nazzala the Book l-kitāba And He wahuwa protects yatawallā the righteous l-ṣāliḥīna
Indeed, my protector is Allāh, who has sent down the Book; and He is an ally to the righteous.
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those whom wa-alladhīna you invoke tadʿūna from min besides Him dūnihi not lā they are able yastaṭīʿūna (to) help you naṣrakum and not walā themselves anfusahum can they help yanṣurūna
And those you call upon besides Him are unable to help you, nor can they help themselves."
وَإِن And if wa-in you call them tadʿūhum to ilā the guidance l-hudā not lā do they not yasmaʿū And you see them watarāhum looking yanẓurūna at you ilayka but they wahum not lā (do) they see yub'ṣirūna
And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking at you while they do not see.
خُذِ Hold khudhi (to) forgiveness l-ʿafwa and enjoin wamur the good bil-ʿur'fi and turn away wa-aʿriḍ from ʿani the ignorant l-jāhilīna
Take what is given freely,1 enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.
وَإِمَّا And if wa-immā an evil suggestion comes to you yanzaghannaka from mina [the] Shaitaan l-shayṭāni [an evil suggestion] nazghun then seek refuge fa-is'taʿidh in Allah bil-lahi Indeed, He innahu (is) All-Hearing samīʿun All-Knowing ʿalīmun
And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allāh. Indeed, He is Hearing and Knowing.
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna fear (Allah) ittaqaw when idhā touches them massahum an evil thought ṭāifun from mina the Shaitaan l-shayṭāni they remember (Allah) tadhakkarū and then fa-idhā they hum (are) those who see (aright) mub'ṣirūna
Indeed, those who fear Allāh - when an impulse touches them from Satan, they remember [Him] and at once they have insight.
وَإِخْوَٰنُهُمْ But their brothers wa-ikh'wānuhum they plunge them yamuddūnahum in fī the error l-ghayi then thumma not lā they cease yuq'ṣirūna
But their brothers1 - they [i.e., the devils] increase them in error; then they do not stop short.
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā not lam you bring them tatihim a Sign biāyatin they say qālū Why (have) not lawlā you devised it ij'tabaytahā Say qul Only innamā I follow attabiʿu what mā is revealed yūḥā to me ilayya from min my Lord rabbī This (is) hādhā enlightenment baṣāiru from min your Lord rabbikum and guidance wahudan and mercy waraḥmatun for a people liqawmin who believe yu'minūna
And when you, [O Muḥammad], do not bring them a sign [i.e., miracle], they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur’ān] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe."
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā is recited quri-a the Quran l-qur'ānu then listen fa-is'tamiʿū to it lahu and pay attention wa-anṣitū so that you may laʿallakum receive mercy tur'ḥamūna
So when the Qur’ān is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.
وَٱذْكُر And remember wa-udh'kur your Lord rabbaka in fī yourself nafsika humbly taḍarruʿan and (in) fear wakhīfatan and without wadūna the loudness l-jahri of mina [the] words l-qawli in the mornings bil-ghuduwi and (in) the evenings wal-āṣāli And (do) not walā be takun among mina the heedless l-ghāfilīna
And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless.
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna (are) near ʿinda your Lord rabbika not lā (do) they turn away in pride yastakbirūna from ʿan His worship ʿibādatihi And they glorify Him wayusabbiḥūnahu and to Him walahu they prostrate yasjudūna
Indeed, those who are near your Lord [i.e., the angels] are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate.
