يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you yāayyuhā who alladhīna believe āmanū When idhā you stand up qum'tum for ilā the prayer l-ṣalati then wash fa-igh'silū your faces wujūhakum and your hands wa-aydiyakum till ilā the elbows l-marāfiqi and wipe wa-im'saḥū your heads biruūsikum and your feet wa-arjulakum till ilā the ankles l-kaʿbayni But if wa-in you are kuntum (in) a state of ceremonial impurity junuban then purify yourselves fa-iṭṭahharū But if wa-in you are kuntum ill marḍā or aw on ʿalā a journey safarin or aw has come jāa anyone aḥadun of you minkum from mina the toilet l-ghāiṭi or aw has (had) contact lāmastumu (with) the women l-nisāa and not falam you find tajidū water māan then do tayyammum fatayammamū (with) earth ṣaʿīdan clean ṭayyiban then wipe fa-im'saḥū your faces biwujūhikum and your hands wa-aydīkum with it min'hu Does not mā intend yurīdu Allah l-lahu to make liyajʿala for you ʿalaykum any min difficulty ḥarajin but walākin He intends yurīdu to purify you liyuṭahhirakum and to complete waliyutimma His Favor niʿ'matahu upon you ʿalaykum so that you may laʿallakum (be) grateful tashkurūna
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janābah,1 then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women2 and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allāh does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.
وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ And remember wa-udh'kurū (the) Favor niʿ'mata (of) Allah l-lahi upon you ʿalaykum and His covenant wamīthāqahu which alladhī He bound you wāthaqakum with [it] bihi when idh you said qul'tum We heard samiʿ'nā and we obeyed wa-aṭaʿnā and fear wa-ittaqū Allah l-laha Indeed inna Allah l-laha (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun of what bidhāti (is in) the breasts l-ṣudūri
And remember the favor of Allāh upon you and His covenant with which He bound you when you said, "We hear and we obey"; and fear Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you yāayyuhā who alladhīna believe āmanū Be kūnū steadfast qawwāmīna for Allah lillahi (as) witnesses shuhadāa in justice bil-qis'ṭi and let not walā prevent you yajrimannakum hatred shanaānu (of) a people qawmin [upon] ʿalā that not allā you do justice taʿdilū Be just iʿ'dilū it huwa (is) nearer aqrabu to [the] piety lilttaqwā And fear wa-ittaqū Allah l-laha indeed inna Allah l-laha (is) All-Aware khabīrun of what bimā you do taʿmalūna
O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allāh, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allāh; indeed, Allāh is [fully] Aware of what you do.
وَعَدَ Has promised waʿada Allah l-lahu those who alladhīna believe āmanū and do waʿamilū the righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti for them lahum (is) forgiveness maghfiratun and a reward wa-ajrun great ʿaẓīmun
Allāh has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds [that] for them there is forgiveness and great reward.
