حَـٰفِظُوا۟

Guard strictly

ḥāfiẓū

عَلَى

[on]

ʿalā

ٱلصَّلَوَٰتِ

the prayers

l-ṣalawāti

وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ

and the prayer

wal-ṣalati

ٱلْوُسْطَىٰ

[the] middle

l-wus'ṭā

وَقُومُوا۟

and stand up

waqūmū

لِلَّهِ

for Allah

lillahi

قَـٰنِتِينَ

devoutly obedient

qānitīna

٢٣٨

Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle [i.e., ʿaṣr] prayer and stand before Allāh, devoutly obedient.

— Saheeh International

فَإِنْ

And if

fa-in

خِفْتُمْ

you fear

khif'tum

فَرِجَالًا

then (pray) on foot

farijālan

أَوْ

or

aw

رُكْبَانًۭا ۖ

riding

ruk'bānan

فَإِذَآ

Then when

fa-idhā

أَمِنتُمْ

you are secure

amintum

فَٱذْكُرُوا۟

then remember

fa-udh'kurū

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

كَمَا

as

kamā

عَلَّمَكُم

He (has) taught you

ʿallamakum

مَّا

what

لَمْ

not

lam

تَكُونُوا۟

you were

takūnū

تَعْلَمُونَ

knowing

taʿlamūna

٢٣٩

And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding. But when you are secure, then remember Allāh [in prayer], as He has taught you that which you did not [previously] know.

— Saheeh International

وَٱلَّذِينَ

And those who

wa-alladhīna

يُتَوَفَّوْنَ

die

yutawaffawna

مِنكُمْ

among you

minkum

وَيَذَرُونَ

and leave behind

wayadharūna

أَزْوَٰجًۭا

(their) wives

azwājan

وَصِيَّةًۭ

(should make) a will

waṣiyyatan

لِّأَزْوَٰجِهِم

for their wives

li-azwājihim

مَّتَـٰعًا

provision

matāʿan

إِلَى

for

ilā

ٱلْحَوْلِ

the year

l-ḥawli

غَيْرَ

without

ghayra

إِخْرَاجٍۢ ۚ

driving (them) out

ikh'rājin

فَإِنْ

But if

fa-in

خَرَجْنَ

they leave

kharajna

فَلَا

then no

falā

جُنَاحَ

blame

junāḥa

عَلَيْكُمْ

upon you

ʿalaykum

فِى

in

مَا

what

فَعَلْنَ

they do

faʿalna

فِىٓ

concerning

أَنفُسِهِنَّ

themselves

anfusihinna

مِن

[of]

min

مَّعْرُوفٍۢ ۗ

honorably

maʿrūfin

وَٱللَّهُ

And Allah

wal-lahu

عَزِيزٌ

(is) All-Mighty

ʿazīzun

حَكِيمٌۭ

All-Wise

ḥakīmun

٢٤٠

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - for their wives is a bequest: maintenance for one year without turning [them] out. But if they leave [of their own accord], then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable way.1 And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.

— Saheeh International

وَلِلْمُطَلَّقَـٰتِ

And for the divorced women

walil'muṭallaqāti

مَتَـٰعٌۢ

(is) a provision

matāʿun

بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۖ

in a fair manner

bil-maʿrūfi

حَقًّا

a duty

ḥaqqan

عَلَى

upon

ʿalā

ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ

the righteous

l-mutaqīna

٢٤١

And for divorced women is a provision according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.

— Saheeh International

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

kadhālika

يُبَيِّنُ

makes clear

yubayyinu

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

لَكُمْ

for you

lakum

ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ

His Verses

āyātihi

لَعَلَّكُمْ

so that you may

laʿallakum

تَعْقِلُونَ

use your intellect

taʿqilūna

٢٤٢

Thus does Allāh make clear to you His verses [i.e., laws] that you might use reason.

— Saheeh International

۞ أَلَمْ

Did not

alam

تَرَ

you see

tara

إِلَى

[to]

ilā

ٱلَّذِينَ

those who

alladhīna

خَرَجُوا۟

went out

kharajū

مِن

from

min

دِيَـٰرِهِمْ

their homes

diyārihim

وَهُمْ

and they

wahum

أُلُوفٌ

(were in) thousands

ulūfun

حَذَرَ

(in) fear

ḥadhara

ٱلْمَوْتِ

(of) [the] death

l-mawti

فَقَالَ

Then said

faqāla

لَهُمُ

to them

lahumu

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

مُوتُوا۟

Die

mūtū

ثُمَّ

then

thumma

أَحْيَـٰهُمْ ۚ

He restored them to life

aḥyāhum

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

لَذُو

(is) surely Possessor

ladhū

فَضْلٍ

(of) bounty

faḍlin

عَلَى

for

ʿalā

ٱلنَّاسِ

[the] mankind

l-nāsi

وَلَـٰكِنَّ

[and] but

walākinna

أَكْثَرَ

most

akthara

ٱلنَّاسِ

(of) the people

l-nāsi

لَا

(are) not

يَشْكُرُونَ

grateful

yashkurūna

٢٤٣

Have you not considered those who left their homes in many thousands, fearing death? Allāh said to them, "Die"; then He restored them to life. And Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of the people do not show gratitude.

— Saheeh International

وَقَـٰتِلُوا۟

And fight

waqātilū

فِى

in

سَبِيلِ

(the) way

sabīli

ٱللَّهِ

(of) Allah

l-lahi

وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟

and know

wa-iʿ'lamū

أَنَّ

that

anna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

سَمِيعٌ

(is) All-Hearing

samīʿun

عَلِيمٌۭ

All-Knowing

ʿalīmun

٢٤٤

And fight in the cause of Allāh and know that Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.

— Saheeh International

مَّن

Who

man

ذَا

(is) the one

dhā

ٱلَّذِى

who

alladhī

يُقْرِضُ

will lend

yuq'riḍu

ٱللَّهَ

(to) Allah

l-laha

قَرْضًا

a loan

qarḍan

حَسَنًۭا

good

ḥasanan

فَيُضَـٰعِفَهُۥ

so (that) He multiplies it

fayuḍāʿifahu

لَهُۥٓ

for him

lahu

أَضْعَافًۭا

manifolds

aḍʿāfan

كَثِيرَةًۭ ۚ

many

kathīratan

وَٱللَّهُ

And Allah

wal-lahu

يَقْبِضُ

withholds

yaqbiḍu

وَيَبْصُۜطُ

and grants abundance

wayabṣuṭu

وَإِلَيْهِ

and to Him

wa-ilayhi

تُرْجَعُونَ

you will be returned

tur'jaʿūna

٢٤٥

Who is it that would loan Allāh a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allāh who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.

— Saheeh International
