وَنُمَكِّنَ

And [We] establish

wanumakkina

لَهُمْ

them

lahum

فِى

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

the land

l-arḍi

وَنُرِىَ

and show

wanuriya

فِرْعَوْنَ

Firaun

fir'ʿawna

وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ

and Haman

wahāmāna

وَجُنُودَهُمَا

and their hosts

wajunūdahumā

مِنْهُم

through them

min'hum

مَّا

what

كَانُوا۟

they were

kānū

يَحْذَرُونَ

fearing

yaḥdharūna

٦

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Hāmān and their soldiers through them1 that which they had feared.

— Saheeh International

وَأَوْحَيْنَآ

And We inspired

wa-awḥaynā

إِلَىٰٓ

[to]

ilā

أُمِّ

(the) mother

ummi

مُوسَىٰٓ

(of) Musa

mūsā

أَنْ

that

an

أَرْضِعِيهِ ۖ

Suckle him

arḍiʿīhi

فَإِذَا

but when

fa-idhā

خِفْتِ

you fear

khif'ti

عَلَيْهِ

for him

ʿalayhi

فَأَلْقِيهِ

then cast him

fa-alqīhi

فِى

in(to)

ٱلْيَمِّ

the river

l-yami

وَلَا

and (do) not

walā

تَخَافِى

fear

takhāfī

وَلَا

and (do) not

walā

تَحْزَنِىٓ ۖ

grieve

taḥzanī

إِنَّا

Indeed, We

innā

رَآدُّوهُ

(will) restore him

rāddūhu

إِلَيْكِ

to you

ilayki

وَجَاعِلُوهُ

and (will) make him

wajāʿilūhu

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

the Messengers

l-mur'salīna

٧

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers."

— Saheeh International

فَٱلْتَقَطَهُۥٓ

Then picked him up

fal-taqaṭahu

ءَالُ

(the) family

ālu

فِرْعَوْنَ

(of) Firaun

fir'ʿawna

لِيَكُونَ

so that he might become

liyakūna

لَهُمْ

to them

lahum

عَدُوًّۭا

an enemy

ʿaduwwan

وَحَزَنًا ۗ

and a grief

waḥazanan

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

فِرْعَوْنَ

Firaun

fir'ʿawna

وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ

and Haman

wahāmāna

وَجُنُودَهُمَا

and their hosts

wajunūdahumā

كَانُوا۟

were

kānū

خَـٰطِـِٔينَ

sinners

khāṭiīna

٨

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Hāmān and their soldiers were deliberate sinners.

— Saheeh International

وَقَالَتِ

And said

waqālati

ٱمْرَأَتُ

(the) wife

im'ra-atu

فِرْعَوْنَ

(of) Firaun

fir'ʿawna

قُرَّتُ

A comfort

qurratu

عَيْنٍۢ

(of the) eye

ʿaynin

لِّى

for me

وَلَكَ ۖ

and for you

walaka

لَا

(Do) not

تَقْتُلُوهُ

kill him

taqtulūhu

عَسَىٰٓ

perhaps

ʿasā

أَن

(that)

an

يَنفَعَنَآ

he may benefit us

yanfaʿanā

أَوْ

or

aw

نَتَّخِذَهُۥ

we may take him

nattakhidhahu

وَلَدًۭا

(as) a son

waladan

وَهُمْ

And they

wahum

لَا

(did) not

يَشْعُرُونَ

perceive

yashʿurūna

٩

And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye [i.e., pleasure] for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not.1

— Saheeh International

وَأَصْبَحَ

And became

wa-aṣbaḥa

فُؤَادُ

(the) heart

fuādu

أُمِّ

(of the) mother

ummi

مُوسَىٰ

(of) Musa

mūsā

فَـٰرِغًا ۖ

empty

fārighan

إِن

That

in

كَادَتْ

she was near

kādat

لَتُبْدِى

(to) disclosing

latub'dī

بِهِۦ

about him

bihi

لَوْلَآ

if not

lawlā

أَن

that

an

رَّبَطْنَا

We strengthened

rabaṭnā

عَلَىٰ

[over]

ʿalā

قَلْبِهَا

her heart

qalbihā

لِتَكُونَ

so that she would be

litakūna

مِنَ

of

mina

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

the believers

l-mu'minīna

١٠

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.

— Saheeh International

وَقَالَتْ

And she said

waqālat

لِأُخْتِهِۦ

to his sister

li-ukh'tihi

قُصِّيهِ ۖ

Follow him

quṣṣīhi

فَبَصُرَتْ

So she watched

fabaṣurat

بِهِۦ

him

bihi

عَن

from

ʿan

جُنُبٍۢ

a distance

junubin

وَهُمْ

while they

wahum

لَا

(did) not

يَشْعُرُونَ

perceive

yashʿurūna

١١

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not.

— Saheeh International

۞ وَحَرَّمْنَا

And We had forbidden

waḥarramnā

عَلَيْهِ

for him

ʿalayhi

ٱلْمَرَاضِعَ

the wet nurses

l-marāḍiʿa

مِن

before

min

قَبْلُ

before

qablu

فَقَالَتْ

so she said

faqālat

هَلْ

Shall I

hal

أَدُلُّكُمْ

direct you

adullukum

عَلَىٰٓ

to

ʿalā

أَهْلِ

(the) people

ahli

بَيْتٍۢ

(of) a house

baytin

يَكْفُلُونَهُۥ

who will rear him

yakfulūnahu

لَكُمْ

for you

lakum

وَهُمْ

while they

wahum

لَهُۥ

to him

lahu

نَـٰصِحُونَ

(will be) sincere

nāṣiḥūna

١٢

And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before,1 so she said, "Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere?"

— Saheeh International

فَرَدَدْنَـٰهُ

So We restored him

faradadnāhu

إِلَىٰٓ

to

ilā

أُمِّهِۦ

his mother

ummihi

كَىْ

that

kay

تَقَرَّ

might be comforted

taqarra

عَيْنُهَا

her eye

ʿaynuhā

وَلَا

and not

walā

تَحْزَنَ

she may grieve

taḥzana

وَلِتَعْلَمَ

and that she would know

walitaʿlama

أَنَّ

that

anna

وَعْدَ

the Promise of Allah

waʿda

ٱللَّهِ

the Promise of Allah

l-lahi

حَقٌّۭ

(is) true

ḥaqqun

وَلَـٰكِنَّ

But

walākinna

أَكْثَرَهُمْ

most of them

aktharahum

لَا

(do) not

يَعْلَمُونَ

know

yaʿlamūna

١٣

So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allāh is true. But most of them [i.e., the people] do not know.

— Saheeh International
