أَلَمْ

Do not

تَعْلَمْ

you know

taʿlam

أَنَّ

that

anna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

عَلَىٰ

over

ʿalā

كُلِّ

every

kulli

شَىْءٍۢ

thing

shayin

قَدِيرٌ

(is) All-Powerful

qadīrun

١٠٦

We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allāh is over all things competent?

— Saheeh International

أَلَمْ

Do not

أَنَّ

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

لَهُۥ

for Him

lahu

مُلْكُ

(is the) Kingdom

mul'ku

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

(of) the heavens

l-samāwāti

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ

and the earth

wal-arḍi

وَمَا

And not

wamā

لَكُم

(is) for you

lakum

مِّن

from

min

دُونِ

besides

dūni

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

l-lahi

مِن

any

min

وَلِىٍّۢ

protector

waliyyin

وَلَا

and not

walā

نَصِيرٍ

any helper

naṣīrin

١٠٧

Do you not know that to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and [that] you have not besides Allāh any protector or any helper?

— Saheeh International

أَمْ

Or

am

تُرِيدُونَ

(do) you wish

turīdūna

أَن

that

an

تَسْـَٔلُوا۟

you ask

tasalū

رَسُولَكُمْ

your Messenger

rasūlakum

كَمَا

as

kamā

سُئِلَ

was asked

su-ila

مُوسَىٰ

Musa

mūsā

مِن

from

min

قَبْلُ ۗ

before

qablu

وَمَن

And whoever

waman

يَتَبَدَّلِ

exchanges

yatabaddali

ٱلْكُفْرَ

[the] disbelief

l-kuf'ra

بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ

with [the] faith

bil-īmāni

فَقَدْ

so certainly

faqad

ضَلَّ

he went astray (from)

ḍalla

سَوَآءَ

(the) evenness

sawāa

ٱلسَّبِيلِ

(of) the way

l-sabīli

١٠٨

Or do you intend to ask1 your Messenger as Moses was asked before? And whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

— Saheeh International

وَدَّ

Wish[ed]

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

(of) the Book

l-kitābi

يَرُدُّونَكُم

they could turn you back

إِيمَـٰنِكُمْ

your (having) faith

īmānikum

كُفَّارًا

(to) disbelievers

kuffāran

حَسَدًۭا

(out of) jealousy

ḥasadan

مِّنْ

from

min

عِندِ

(of)

ʿindi

أَنفُسِهِم

themselves

anfusihim

مِّنۢ

(even) from

min

بَعْدِ

after

baʿdi

مَا

[what]

تَبَيَّنَ

became clear

tabayyana

لَهُمُ

to them

lahumu

ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ

the truth

l-ḥaqu

فَٱعْفُوا۟

So forgive

fa-iʿ'fū

وَٱصْفَحُوا۟

and overlook

wa-iṣ'faḥū

حَتَّىٰ

until

ḥattā

يَأْتِىَ

brings

yatiya

ٱللَّهُ

Allah

l-lahu

بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ

His Command

bi-amrihi

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

عَلَىٰ

on

ʿalā

كُلِّ

every

kulli

شَىْءٍۢ

thing

shayin

قَدِيرٌۭ

(is) All-Powerful

qadīrun

١٠٩

Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allāh delivers His command. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.

— Saheeh International

وَأَقِيمُوا۟

And establish

wa-aqīmū

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

the prayer

l-ṣalata

وَءَاتُوا۟

and give

waātū

ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ۚ

[the] zakah

l-zakata

وَمَا

And whatever

wamā

تُقَدِّمُوا۟

you send forth

tuqaddimū

لِأَنفُسِكُم

for yourselves

li-anfusikum

مِّنْ

of

min

خَيْرٍۢ

good (deeds)

khayrin

تَجِدُوهُ

you will find it

tajidūhu

عِندَ

with

ʿinda

ٱللَّهِ ۗ

Allah

l-lahi

إِنَّ

Indeed

inna

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

l-laha

بِمَا

of what

bimā

تَعْمَلُونَ

you do

taʿmalūna

بَصِيرٌۭ

(is) All-Seer

baṣīrun

١١٠

And establish prayer and give zakāh, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allāh. Indeed Allāh, of what you do, is Seeing.

— Saheeh International

وَقَالُوا۟

And they said

waqālū

لَن

Never

lan

يَدْخُلَ

will enter

yadkhula

ٱلْجَنَّةَ

the Paradise

l-janata

إِلَّا

except

illā

مَن

who

man

كَانَ

is

kāna

هُودًا

(a) Jew[s]

hūdan

أَوْ

or

aw

نَصَـٰرَىٰ ۗ

(a) Christian[s]

naṣārā

تِلْكَ

That

til'ka

أَمَانِيُّهُمْ ۗ

(is) their wishful thinking

amāniyyuhum

قُلْ

Say

qul

هَاتُوا۟

Bring

hātū

بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ

your proof

bur'hānakum

إِن

if

in

كُنتُمْ

you are

kuntum

صَـٰدِقِينَ

[those who are] truthful

ṣādiqīna

١١١

And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking. Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

— Saheeh International

بَلَىٰ

Yes

balā

مَنْ

whoever

man

أَسْلَمَ

submits

aslama

وَجْهَهُۥ

his face

wajhahu

لِلَّهِ

to Allah

lillahi

وَهُوَ

and he

wahuwa

مُحْسِنٌۭ

(is) a good-doer

muḥ'sinun

فَلَهُۥٓ

so for him

falahu

أَجْرُهُۥ

(is) his reward

ajruhu

عِندَ

with

ʿinda

رَبِّهِۦ

his Lord

rabbihi

وَلَا

And no

walā

خَوْفٌ

fear

khawfun

عَلَيْهِمْ

(will be) on them

ʿalayhim

وَلَا

and not

walā

هُمْ

they

hum

يَحْزَنُونَ

(will) grieve

yaḥzanūna

١١٢

Yes, [on the contrary], whoever submits his face [i.e., self] in Islām to Allāh while being a doer of good will have his reward with his Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

— Saheeh International
