An-Nāzi`āt
Those who drag forth
﷽
النازعات
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ By those who extract wal-nāziʿāti violently gharqan
By those [angels] who extract with violence
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ And those who draw out wal-nāshiṭāti gently nashṭan
And [by] those who remove with ease
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ And those who glide wal-sābiḥāti swimming sabḥan
And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ And those who race each other fal-sābiqāti (in) a race sabqan
And those who race each other in a race
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ And those who arrange fal-mudabirāti (the) matter amran
And those who arrange [each] matter,
يَوْمَ (The) Day yawma will quake tarjufu the quaking one l-rājifatu
On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],
تَتْبَعُهَا Follows it tatbaʿuhā the subsequent l-rādifatu
There will follow it the subsequent [one].
قُلُوبٌۭ Hearts qulūbun that Day yawma-idhin will palpitate wājifatun
Hearts, that Day, will tremble,
يَقُولُونَ They say yaqūlūna Will we a-innā indeed be returned lamardūdūna to fī the former state l-ḥāfirati
They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?
أَءِذَا What! When a-idhā we are kunnā bones ʿiẓāman decayed nakhiratan
Even if we should be decayed bones?"
قَالُوا۟ They say qālū This til'ka then idhan (would be) a return karratun losing khāsiratun
They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."
فَإِنَّمَا Then only fa-innamā it hiya (will be) a shout zajratun single wāḥidatun
Indeed, it will be but one shout,
فَإِذَا And behold fa-idhā They hum (will be) awakened bil-sāhirati
And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
