أَمَّنْ Who is amman this hādhā the one alladhī he huwa (is) an army jundun for you lakum to help you yanṣurukum from min besides dūni the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni Not ini (are) the disbelievers l-kāfirūna but illā in fī delusion ghurūrin
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion.
أَمَّنْ Who is amman this hādhā the one alladhī to provide you yarzuqukum if in He withheld amsaka His provision riz'qahu Nay bal they persist lajjū in fī pride ʿutuwwin and aversion wanufūrin
Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.
أَفَمَن Then is he who afaman walks yamshī fallen mukibban on ʿalā his face wajhihi better guided ahdā or (he) who amman walks yamshī upright sawiyyan on ʿalā (the) Path ṣirāṭin Straight mus'taqīmin
Then is one who walks fallen on his face better guided or one who walks erect on a straight path?
قُلْ Say qul He huwa (is) the One Who alladhī produced you ansha-akum and made wajaʿala for you lakumu the hearing l-samʿa and the vision wal-abṣāra and the feelings wal-afidata Little qalīlan (is) what mā you give thanks tashkurūna
Say, "It is He who has produced you and made for you hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]; little are you grateful."
قُلْ Say qul He huwa (is) the One Who alladhī multiplied you dhara-akum in fī the earth l-arḍi and to Him wa-ilayhi you will be gathered tuḥ'sharūna
Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered."
وَيَقُولُونَ And they say wayaqūlūna When matā (is) this hādhā promise l-waʿdu if in you are kuntum truthful ṣādiqīna
And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
قُلْ Say qul Only innamā the knowledge l-ʿil'mu (is) with ʿinda Allah l-lahi and only wa-innamā I am anā a warner nadhīrun clear mubīnun
Say, "The knowledge is only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner."
فَلَمَّا But when falammā they (will) see it ra-awhu approaching zul'fatan (will be) distressed sīat (the) faces wujūhu (of) those who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū and it will be said waqīla This hādhā (is) that which alladhī you used to kuntum for it bihi call taddaʿūna
But when they see it approaching, the faces of those who disbelieve will be distressed, and it will be said, "This is that for which you used to call."
