The Mutual Disillusion
﷽
التغابن
يُسَبِّحُ Glorifies yusabbiḥu [to] Allah lillahi whatever mā (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and whatever wamā (is) in fī the earth l-arḍi For Him lahu (is the) dominion l-mul'ku and for Him walahu (is) the praise l-ḥamdu And He wahuwa (is) on ʿalā every kulli thing shayin All-Powerful qadīrun
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allāh.1 To Him belongs dominion, and to Him belongs [all] praise, and He is over all things competent.
هُوَ He huwa (is) the One Who alladhī created you khalaqakum and among you faminkum (is) a disbeliever kāfirun and among you waminkum (is) a believer mu'minun And Allah wal-lahu of what bimā you do taʿmalūna (is) All-Seer baṣīrun
It is He who created you, and among you is the disbeliever, and among you is the believer. And Allāh, of what you do, is Seeing.
خَلَقَ He created khalaqa the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍa with truth bil-ḥaqi and He formed you waṣawwarakum and made good fa-aḥsana your forms ṣuwarakum and to Him wa-ilayhi (is) the final return l-maṣīru
He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and to Him is the [final] destination.
يَعْلَمُ He knows yaʿlamu what mā (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi and He knows wayaʿlamu what mā you conceal tusirrūna and what wamā you declare tuʿ'linūna And Allah wal-lahu (is) All-Knowing ʿalīmun of what bidhāti (is in) the breasts l-ṣudūri
He knows what is within the heavens and earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare. And Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
أَلَمْ Has not alam come to you yatikum (the) news naba-u (of) those who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū from min before qablu So they tasted fadhāqū (the bad) consequence wabāla (of) their affair amrihim and for them walahum (is) a punishment ʿadhābun painful alīmun
Has there not come to you the news of those who disbelieved before? So they tasted the bad consequence of their affair, and they will have a painful punishment.
ذَٰلِكَ That dhālika (is) because bi-annahu had kānat come to them tatīhim their Messengers rusuluhum with clear proofs bil-bayināti but they said faqālū Shall human beings abasharun guide us yahdūnanā So they disbelieved fakafarū and turned away watawallaw And can do without them wa-is'taghnā Allah l-lahu And Allah wal-lahu (is) Self-sufficient ghaniyyun Praiseworthy ḥamīdun
That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allāh dispensed [with them]; and Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
زَعَمَ Claim zaʿama those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū that an never lan will they be raised yub'ʿathū Say qul Yes balā by my Lord warabbī surely you will be raised latub'ʿathunna then thumma surely you will be informed latunabba-unna of what bimā you did ʿamil'tum And that wadhālika for ʿalā Allah l-lahi (is) easy yasīrun
Those who disbelieve have claimed that they will never be resurrected. Say, "Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did. And that, for Allāh, is easy."
فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ So believe faāminū in Allah bil-lahi and His Messenger warasūlihi and the Light wal-nūri which alladhī We have sent down anzalnā And Allah wal-lahu of what bimā you do taʿmalūna (is) All-Aware khabīrun
So believe in Allāh and His Messenger and the light [i.e., the Qur’ān] which We have sent down. And Allāh is Aware of what you do.
يَوْمَ (The) Day yawma He will assemble you yajmaʿukum for (the) Day liyawmi (of) the Assembly l-jamʿi that dhālika (will be the) Day yawmu (of) mutual loss and gain l-taghābuni And whoever waman believes yu'min in Allah bil-lahi and does wayaʿmal righteous deeds ṣāliḥan He will remove yukaffir from him ʿanhu his evil deeds sayyiātihi and He will admit him wayud'khil'hu (to) Gardens jannātin flow tajrī from min underneath it taḥtihā the rivers l-anhāru abiding khālidīna therein fīhā forever abadan That dhālika (is) the success l-fawzu the great l-ʿaẓīmu
The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly - that is the Day of Deprivation.1 And whoever believes in Allāh and does righteousness - He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
وَٱلَّذِينَ But those who wa-alladhīna disbelieved kafarū and denied wakadhabū [in] Our Verses biāyātinā those ulāika (are the) companions aṣḥābu (of) the Fire l-nāri abiding forever khālidīna therein fīhā And wretched is wabi'sa the destination l-maṣīru
But the ones who disbelieved and denied Our verses - those are the companions of the Fire, abiding eternally therein; and wretched is the destination.
مَآ Not mā strikes aṣāba any min disaster muṣībatin except illā by (the) permission bi-idh'ni (of) Allah l-lahi And whoever waman believes yu'min in Allah bil-lahi He guides yahdi his heart qalbahu And Allah wal-lahu of every bikulli thing shayin (is) All-Knowing ʿalīmun
No disaster strikes except by permission of Allāh. And whoever believes in Allāh - He will guide his heart. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.
وَأَطِيعُوا۟ So obey wa-aṭīʿū Allah l-laha and obey wa-aṭīʿū the Messenger l-rasūla but if fa-in you turn away tawallaytum then only fa-innamā upon ʿalā Our Messenger rasūlinā (is) the conveyance l-balāghu clear l-mubīnu
And obey Allāh and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu (there is) no lā god ilāha except illā Him huwa And upon waʿalā Allah l-lahi let put (their) trust falyatawakkali the believers l-mu'minūna
Allāh - there is no deity except Him. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O yāayyuhā (you) who alladhīna believe āmanū Indeed inna from min your spouses azwājikum and your children wa-awlādikum (are) enemies ʿaduwwan to you lakum so beware of them fa-iḥ'dharūhum But if wa-in you pardon taʿfū and overlook wataṣfaḥū and forgive wataghfirū then indeed fa-inna Allah l-laha (is) Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun Most Merciful raḥīmun
O you who have believed, indeed, among your spouses and your children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon and overlook and forgive - then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.
إِنَّمَآ Only innamā your wealth amwālukum and your children wa-awlādukum (are) a trial fit'natun and Allah wal-lahu with Him ʿindahu (is) a reward ajrun great ʿaẓīmun
Your wealth and your children are but a trial, and Allāh has with Him a great reward.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ So fear fa-ittaqū Allah l-laha what mā you are able is'taṭaʿtum and listen wa-is'maʿū and obey wa-aṭīʿū and spend wa-anfiqū (it is) better khayran for yourselves li-anfusikum And whoever waman is saved yūqa (from the) greediness shuḥḥa (of) his soul nafsihi then those fa-ulāika [they] humu (are) the successful ones l-muf'liḥūna
So fear Allāh as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allāh]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
إِن If in you loan tuq'riḍū (to) Allah l-laha a loan qarḍan goodly ḥasanan He will multiply it yuḍāʿif'hu for you lakum and will forgive wayaghfir you lakum And Allah wal-lahu (is) Most Appreciative shakūrun Most Forbearing ḥalīmun
If you loan Allāh a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And Allāh is [most] Appreciative1 and Forbearing,2
عَـٰلِمُ (The) Knower ʿālimu (of) the unseen l-ghaybi and the witnessed wal-shahādati the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
