۞ وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā you see them ra-aytahum pleases you tuʿ'jibuka their bodies ajsāmuhum and if wa-in they speak yaqūlū you listen tasmaʿ to their speech liqawlihim as if they (were) ka-annahum pieces of wood khushubun propped up musannadatun They think yaḥsabūna every kulla shout ṣayḥatin (is) against them ʿalayhim They humu (are) the enemy l-ʿaduwu so beware of them fa-iḥ'dharhum May destroy them qātalahumu Allah l-lahu How annā are they deluded yu'fakūna
And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up1 - they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allāh destroy them; how are they deluded?
