وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā it is said qīla to them lahum Come taʿālaw to ilā what mā has (been) revealed anzala (by) Allah l-lahu and to wa-ilā the Messenger l-rasūli they said qālū Sufficient for us ḥasbunā (is) what mā we found wajadnā upon it ʿalayhi our forefathers ābāanā Even though awalaw (that) kāna their forefathers ābāuhum (were) not lā knowing yaʿlamūna anything shayan and not walā they (were) guided yahtadūna
And when it is said to them, "Come to what Allāh has revealed and to the Messenger," they say, "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers." Even though their fathers knew nothing, nor were they guided?
