وَٱلَّذِى But the one who wa-alladhī says qāla to his parents liwālidayhi Uff uffin to both of you lakumā Do you promise me ataʿidāninī that an I will be brought forth ukh'raja and have already passed away waqad and have already passed away khalati the generations l-qurūnu before me min before me qablī And they both wahumā seek help yastaghīthāni (of) Allah l-laha Woe to you waylaka Believe āmin Indeed inna (the) Promise waʿda (of) Allah l-lahi (is) true ḥaqqun But he says fayaqūlu Not mā (is) this hādhā but illā (the) stories asāṭīru (of) the former (people) l-awalīna
But one who says to his parents, "Uff1 to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allāh for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former peoples" -
