أَمِ Or ami have they taken ittakhadhū besides min besides dūni Allah l-lahi intercessors shufaʿāa Say qul Even though awalaw they were kānū not lā possessing yamlikūna anything shayan and not walā they understand yaʿqilūna
Or have they taken other than Allāh as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?"
قُل Say qul To Allah (belongs) lillahi the intercession l-shafāʿatu all jamīʿan For Him lahu (is the) dominion mul'ku (of) the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi Then thumma to Him ilayhi you will be returned tur'jaʿūna
Say, "To Allāh belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned."
وَإِذَا And when wa-idhā Allah is mentioned dhukira Allah is mentioned l-lahu Alone waḥdahu shrink with aversion ish'ma-azzat (the) hearts qulūbu (of) those who alladhīna (do) not lā believe yu'minūna in the Hereafter bil-ākhirati and when wa-idhā are mentioned dhukira those alladhīna besides Him min besides Him dūnihi behold idhā They hum rejoice yastabshirūna
And when Allāh is mentioned alone, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion, but when those [worshipped] other than Him are mentioned, immediately they rejoice.
