إِنَّآ Indeed We innā We revealed anzalnā to you ʿalayka the Book l-kitāba for [the] mankind lilnnāsi in truth bil-ḥaqi So whoever famani accepts guidance ih'tadā then (it is) for his soul falinafsihi and whoever waman goes astray ḍalla then only fa-innamā he strays yaḍillu against his (soul) ʿalayhā And not wamā you anta (are) over them ʿalayhim a manager biwakīlin
Indeed, We sent down to you the Book for the people in truth. So whoever is guided - it is for [the benefit of] his soul; and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment. And you are not a manager [i.e., authority] over them.
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu takes yatawaffā the souls l-anfusa (at the) time ḥīna (of) their death mawtihā and the one who wa-allatī (does) not lam die tamut in fī their sleep manāmihā Then He keeps fayum'siku the one whom allatī He has decreed qaḍā for them ʿalayhā the death l-mawta and sends wayur'silu the others l-ukh'rā for ilā a term ajalin specified musamman Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely (are) signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who ponder yatafakkarūna
Allāh takes the souls at the time of their death, and those that do not die [He takes] during their sleep. Then He keeps those for which He has decreed death and releases the others for a specified term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
