وَٱذْكُرْ And remember wa-udh'kur Our slave ʿabdanā Ayyub ayyūba when idh he called nādā his Lord rabbahu That [I] annī (has) touched me massaniya Shaitaan l-shayṭānu with distress binuṣ'bin and suffering waʿadhābin
And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment."
ٱرْكُضْ Strike ur'kuḍ with your foot birij'lika This hādhā (is a spring of) water to bathe mugh'tasalun cool bāridun and a drink washarābun
[So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for a] cool bath and drink."
وَوَهَبْنَا And We granted wawahabnā [to] him lahu his family ahlahu and a like of them wamith'lahum with them maʿahum a Mercy raḥmatan from Us minnā and a Reminder wadhik'rā for those of understanding li-ulī for those of understanding l-albābi
And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding.
وَخُذْ And take wakhudh in your hand biyadika a bunch ḍigh'than and strike fa-iḍ'rib with it bihi and (do) not walā break (your) oath taḥnath Indeed, We innā [We] found him wajadnāhu patient ṣābiran an excellent niʿ'ma slave l-ʿabdu Indeed, he innahu repeatedly turned awwābun
[We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allāh].
