فَجَآءَتْهُ Then came to him fajāathu one of the two women iḥ'dāhumā walking tamshī with ʿalā shyness is'tiḥ'yāin She said qālat Indeed inna my father abī calls you yadʿūka that he may reward you liyajziyaka (the) reward ajra (for) what mā you watered saqayta for us lanā So when falammā he came to him jāahu and narrated waqaṣṣa to him ʿalayhi the story l-qaṣaṣa he said qāla (Do) not lā fear takhaf You have escaped najawta from mina the people l-qawmi the wrongdoers l-ẓālimīna
Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, "Indeed, my father invites you that he may reward you for having watered for us." So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, "Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people."
قَالَتْ Said qālat one of them iḥ'dāhumā O my father yāabati Hire him is'tajir'hu Indeed inna (the) best khayra whom mani you (can) hire is'tajarta (is) the strong l-qawiyu the trustworthy l-amīnu
One of the women said, "O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy."
قَالَ He said qāla Indeed, I innī [I] wish urīdu to an marry you to unkiḥaka one iḥ'dā (of) my daughters ib'natayya (of) these two hātayni on ʿalā that an you serve me tajuranī (for) eight thamāniya years ḥijajin but if fa-in you complete atmamta ten ʿashran then from famin you ʿindika And not wamā I wish urīdu to an make it difficult ashuqqa for you ʿalayka You will find me satajidunī if in Allah wills shāa Allah wills l-lahu of mina the righteous l-ṣāliḥīna
He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allāh wills, from among the righteous."
قَالَ He said qāla That dhālika (is) between me baynī and between you wabaynaka Whichever ayyamā (of) the two terms l-ajalayni I complete qaḍaytu then no falā injustice ʿud'wāna to me ʿalayya and Allah wal-lahu over ʿalā what mā we say naqūlu (is) a Witness wakīlun
[Moses] said, "That is [established] between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete - there is no injustice to me, and Allāh, over what we say, is Witness."
