طسٓ ۚ Ta Seen tta-seen These til'ka (are the) Verses āyātu (of) the Quran l-qur'āni and a Book wakitābin clear mubīnin
Ṭā, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book
هُدًۭى A guidance hudan and glad tidings wabush'rā for the believers lil'mu'minīna
As guidance and good tidings for the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna establish yuqīmūna the prayer l-ṣalata and give wayu'tūna zakah l-zakata and they wahum in the Hereafter bil-ākhirati [they] hum believe with certainty yūqinūna
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].
إِنَّ Indeed inna those who alladhīna (do) not lā believe yu'minūna in the Hereafter bil-ākhirati We have made fair-seeming zayyannā to them lahum their deeds aʿmālahum so they fahum wander blindly yaʿmahūna
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ Those ulāika (are) the ones alladhīna for them lahum (is) an evil sūu [the] punishment l-ʿadhābi and they wahum in fī the Hereafter l-ākhirati [they] humu (will be) the greatest losers l-akhsarūna
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.
وَإِنَّكَ And indeed, you wa-innaka surely, receive latulaqqā the Quran l-qur'āna from [near] min from [near] ladun the All-Wise ḥakīmin the All-Knower ʿalīmin
And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.
إِذْ When idh said qāla Musa mūsā to his family li-ahlihi Indeed, I innī perceive ānastu a fire nāran I will bring you saātīkum from it min'hā some information bikhabarin or aw I will bring you ātīkum a torch bishihābin burning qabasin so that you may laʿallakum warm yourselves taṣṭalūna
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."
فَلَمَّا But when falammā he came to it jāahā he was called nūdiya [that] an Blessed is būrika who man (is) at fī the fire l-nāri and whoever waman (is) around it ḥawlahā And glory be wasub'ḥāna (to) Allah l-lahi (the) Lord rabbi (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.
يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ O Musa yāmūsā Indeed innahu I Am anā Allah l-lahu the All-Mighty l-ʿazīzu the All-Wise l-ḥakīmu
O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
وَأَلْقِ And, "Throw wa-alqi your staff ʿaṣāka But when falammā he saw it raāhā moving tahtazzu as if it ka-annahā (were) a snake jānnun he turned back wallā (in) flight mud'biran and (did) not walam look back yuʿaqqib O Musa yāmūsā (Do) not lā fear takhaf Indeed, [I] innī (do) not lā fear yakhāfu (in) My presence ladayya the Messengers l-mur'salūna
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.
إِلَّا Except illā who man wrongs ẓalama then thumma substitutes baddala good ḥus'nan after baʿda evil sūin then indeed, I Am fa-innī Oft-Forgiving ghafūrun Most Merciful raḥīmun
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.
وَأَدْخِلْ And enter wa-adkhil your hand yadaka into fī your bosom jaybika it will come forth takhruj white bayḍāa without min without ghayri harm sūin (These are) among fī nine tis'ʿi signs āyātin to ilā Firaun fir'ʿawna and his people waqawmihi Indeed, they innahum are kānū a people qawman defiantly disobedient fāsiqīna
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."
فَلَمَّا But when falammā came to them jāathum Our Signs āyātunā visible mub'ṣiratan they said qālū This hādhā (is) a magic siḥ'run manifest mubīnun
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."
وَجَحَدُوا۟ And they rejected wajaḥadū them bihā though were convinced with them (signs) wa-is'tayqanathā themselves anfusuhum (out of) injustice ẓul'man and haughtiness waʿuluwwan So see fa-unẓur how kayfa was kāna (the) end ʿāqibatu (of) the corrupters l-muf'sidīna
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.
وَلَقَدْ And verily walaqad We gave ātaynā Dawood dāwūda and Sulaiman wasulaymāna knowledge ʿil'man and they said waqālā Praise be l-ḥamdu to Allah lillahi the One Who alladhī has favored us faḍḍalanā over ʿalā many kathīrin of min His servants ʿibādihi the believers l-mu'minīna
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allāh, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."
وَوَرِثَ And inherited wawaritha Sulaiman sulaymānu Dawood dāwūda And he said waqāla O yāayyuhā people l-nāsu We have been taught ʿullim'nā (the) language manṭiqa (of) the birds l-ṭayri and we have been given waūtīnā from min every kulli thing shayin Indeed inna this hādhā surely, it lahuwa (is) the favor l-faḍlu evident l-mubīnu
And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."
وَحُشِرَ And were gathered waḥushira for Sulaiman lisulaymāna his hosts junūduhu of mina jinn l-jini and the men wal-insi and the birds wal-ṭayri and they fahum (were) set in rows yūzaʿūna
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows
حَتَّىٰٓ Until ḥattā when idhā they came ataw to ʿalā (the) valley wādi (of) the ants l-namli said qālat an ant namlatun O yāayyuhā ants l-namlu Enter ud'khulū your dwellings masākinakum lest not crush you lā lest not crush you yaḥṭimannakum Sulaiman sulaymānu and his hosts wajunūduhu while they wahum (do) not perceive lā (do) not perceive yashʿurūna
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."
فَتَبَسَّمَ So he smiled fatabassama laughing ḍāḥikan at min her speech qawlihā and said waqāla My Lord rabbi Grant me (the) power awziʿ'nī that an I may thank You ashkura (for) Your Favor niʿ'mataka which allatī You have bestowed anʿamta on me ʿalayya and on waʿalā my parents wālidayya and that wa-an I may do aʿmala righteous (deeds) ṣāliḥan that will please You tarḍāhu And admit me wa-adkhil'nī by Your Mercy biraḥmatika among fī Your slaves ʿibādika righteous l-ṣāliḥīna
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."
وَتَفَقَّدَ And he inspected watafaqqada the birds l-ṭayra and said faqāla Why mā Why liya not lā I see arā the hoopoe l-hud'huda or am is he kāna from mina the absent l-ghāibīna
And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥ I will surely punish him la-uʿadhibannahu (with) a punishment ʿadhāban severe shadīdan or aw I will surely slaughter him laādh'baḥannahu unless aw he brings me layatiyannī a reason bisul'ṭānin clear mubīnin
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."
فَمَكَثَ So he stayed famakatha not ghayra long baʿīdin and he said faqāla I have encompassed aḥaṭtu that which bimā not lam you have encompassed tuḥiṭ it bihi and I have come to you waji'tuka from min Saba saba-in with news binaba-in certain yaqīnin
But he [i.e., the hoopoe] stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.
إِنِّى Indeed, I innī found wajadttu a woman im'ra-atan ruling them tamlikuhum and she has been given waūtiyat of min every kulli thing shayin and for her walahā (is) a throne ʿarshun great ʿaẓīmun
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.
وَجَدتُّهَا And I found her wajadttuhā and her people waqawmahā prostrating yasjudūna to the sun lilshamsi instead of Allah min instead of Allah dūni instead of Allah l-lahi and has made fair-seeming wazayyana to them lahumu the Shaitaan l-shayṭānu their deeds aʿmālahum and averted them faṣaddahum from ʿani the Way l-sabīli so they fahum (are) not lā guided yahtadūna
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allāh, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,
أَلَّا That not allā they prostrate yasjudū to Allah lillahi the One Who alladhī brings forth yukh'riju the hidden l-khaba-a in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi and knows wayaʿlamu what mā you conceal tukh'fūna and what wamā you declare tuʿ'linūna
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allāh, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu (there is) no lā god ilāha but illā He huwa (the) Lord rabbu (of) the Throne l-ʿarshi the Great l-ʿaẓīmi
Allāh - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."
۞ قَالَ He said qāla We will see sananẓuru whether you speak (the) truth aṣadaqta or am you are kunta of mina the liars l-kādhibīna
[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.
ٱذْهَب Go idh'hab with my letter bikitābī this hādhā and deliver it fa-alqih to them ilayhim Then thumma turn away tawalla from them ʿanhum and see fa-unẓur what mādhā they return yarjiʿūna
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."
قَالَتْ She said qālat O yāayyuhā chiefs l-mala-u Indeed [I] innī is delivered ul'qiya to me ilayya a letter kitābun noble karīmun
She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.
إِنَّهُۥ Indeed, it innahu (is) from min Sulaiman sulaymāna and indeed it (is) wa-innahu In the name bis'mi (of) Allah l-lahi the Most Gracious l-raḥmāni the Most Merciful l-raḥīmi
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is [i.e., reads]: 'In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
أَلَّا That not allā exalt yourselves taʿlū against me ʿalayya but come to me watūnī (in) submission mus'limīna
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'"
قَالَتْ She said qālat O yāayyuhā chiefs l-mala-u Advise me aftūnī in fī my affair amrī Not mā I would be kuntu the one to decide qāṭiʿatan any matter amran until ḥattā you are present with me tashhadūni
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū We naḥnu (are) possessors ulū (of) strength quwwatin and possessors wa-ulū (of) might basin great shadīdin and the command wal-amru (is) up to you ilayki so look fa-unẓurī what mādhā you will command tamurīna
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."
قَالَتْ She said qālat Indeed inna the kings l-mulūka when idhā they enter dakhalū a town qaryatan they ruin it afsadūhā and make wajaʿalū (the) most honorable aʿizzata (of) its people ahlihā (the) lowest adhillatan And thus wakadhālika they do yafʿalūna
She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.
وَإِنِّى But indeed, I am wa-innī going to send mur'silatun to them ilayhim a gift bihadiyyatin and see fanāẓiratun with what bima return yarjiʿu the messengers l-mur'salūna
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."
فَلَمَّا So when falammā came jāa (to) Sulaiman sulaymāna he said qāla Will you provide me atumiddūnani with wealth bimālin But what famā Allah has given me ātāniya Allah has given me l-lahu (is) better khayrun than what mimmā He has given you ātākum Nay bal you antum in your gift bihadiyyatikum rejoice tafraḥūna
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.
ٱرْجِعْ Return ir'jiʿ to them ilayhim surely, we will come to them falanatiyannahum with hosts bijunūdin not lā (is) resistance qibala for them lahum of it bihā and surely, we will drive them out walanukh'rijannahum from there min'hā (in) humiliation adhillatan and they wahum (will be) abased ṣāghirūna
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."
قَالَ He said qāla O yāayyuhā chiefs l-mala-u Which of you ayyukum will bring me yatīnī her throne biʿarshihā before qabla that an they come to me yatūnī (in) submission mus'limīna
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"
قَالَ Said qāla a strong one ʿif'rītun of mina the jinn l-jini I anā will bring it to you ātīka will bring it to you bihi before qabla [that] an you rise taqūma from min your place maqāmika And indeed, I am wa-innī for it ʿalayhi surely, strong laqawiyyun trustworthy amīnun
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."
قَالَ Said qāla one who alladhī with him ʿindahu (was) knowledge ʿil'mun of mina the Scripture l-kitābi I anā will bring it to you ātīka will bring it to you bihi before qabla [that] an returns yartadda to you ilayka your glance ṭarfuka Then when falammā he saw it raāhu placed mus'taqirran before him ʿindahu he said qāla This hādhā (is) from min (the) Favor faḍli (of) my Lord rabbī to test me liyabluwanī whether I am grateful a-ashkuru or am I am ungrateful akfuru And whoever waman (is) grateful shakara then only fa-innamā he is grateful yashkuru for his own soul linafsihi And whoever waman (is) ungrateful kafara then indeed fa-inna my Lord rabbī (is) Self-sufficient ghaniyyun Noble karīmun
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."
قَالَ He said qāla Disguise nakkirū for her lahā her throne ʿarshahā we will see nanẓur whether she will be guided atahtadī or am will be takūnu of mina those who alladhīna are not guided lā are not guided yahtadūna
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."
فَلَمَّا So when falammā she came jāat it was said qīla Is like this ahākadhā your throne ʿarshuki She said qālat It is like ka-annahu it huwa And we were given waūtīnā the knowledge l-ʿil'ma before her min before her qablihā and we have been wakunnā Muslims mus'limīna
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].
وَصَدَّهَا And has averted her waṣaddahā what mā she used (to) kānat worship taʿbudu besides min besides dūni Allah l-lahi Indeed, she innahā was kānat from min a people qawmin who disbelieve kāfirīna
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."
قِيلَ It was said qīla to her lahā Enter ud'khulī the palace l-ṣarḥa Then when falammā she saw it ra-athu she thought it ḥasibathu (was) a pool lujjatan and she uncovered wakashafat [on] ʿan her shins sāqayhā He said qāla Indeed, it innahu (is) a palace ṣarḥun made smooth mumarradun of min glass qawārīra She said qālat My Lord rabbi indeed, I innī [I] have wronged ẓalamtu myself nafsī and I submit wa-aslamtu with maʿa Sulaiman sulaymāna to Allah lillahi (the) Lord rabbi (of) the worlds l-ʿālamīna
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad We sent arsalnā to ilā Thamud thamūda their brother akhāhum Salih ṣāliḥan that ani Worship uʿ'budū Allah l-laha Then behold fa-idhā They hum (became) two parties farīqāni quarreling yakhtaṣimūna
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.
قَالَ He said qāla O my people yāqawmi Why lima (do) you seek to hasten tastaʿjilūna the evil bil-sayi-ati before qabla the good l-ḥasanati Why not lawlā you ask forgiveness tastaghfirūna (of) Allah l-laha so that you may laʿallakum receive mercy tur'ḥamūna
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū We consider you a bad omen iṭṭayyarnā We consider you a bad omen bika and those wabiman with you maʿaka He said qāla Your bad omen ṭāirukum (is) with ʿinda Allah l-lahi Nay bal you antum (are) a people qawmun being tested tuf'tanūna
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."
وَكَانَ And were wakāna in fī the city l-madīnati nine tis'ʿatu family heads rahṭin they were spreading corruption yuf'sidūna in fī the land l-arḍi and not walā reforming yuṣ'liḥūna
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū Swear to each other taqāsamū by Allah bil-lahi surely, we will attack him by night lanubayyitannahu and his family wa-ahlahu Then thumma we will surely say lanaqūlanna to his heir liwaliyyihi Not mā we witnessed shahid'nā (the) destruction mahlika (of) his family ahlihi and indeed, we wa-innā (are) surely truthful laṣādiqūna
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"
وَمَكَرُوا۟ So they plotted wamakarū a plot makran and We planned wamakarnā a plan makran while they wahum (did) not lā perceive yashʿurūna
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.
فَٱنظُرْ Then see fa-unẓur how kayfa was kāna (the) end ʿāqibatu (of) their plot makrihim that We annā destroyed them dammarnāhum and their people waqawmahum all ajmaʿīna
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.
فَتِلْكَ So, these fatil'ka (are) their houses buyūtuhum ruined khāwiyatan because bimā they wronged ẓalamū Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely, is a sign laāyatan for a people liqawmin who know yaʿlamūna
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.
وَأَنجَيْنَا And We saved wa-anjaynā those who alladhīna believed āmanū and used (to) wakānū fear (Allah) yattaqūna
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.
وَلُوطًا And Lut walūṭan when idh he said qāla to his people liqawmihi Do you commit atatūna [the] immorality l-fāḥishata while you wa-antum see tub'ṣirūna
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?
أَئِنَّكُمْ Why do you a-innakum approach latatūna the men l-rijāla (with) lust shahwatan instead of min instead of dūni the women l-nisāi Nay bal you antum (are) a people qawmun ignorant tajhalūna
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."
۞ فَمَا But not famā was kāna (the) answer jawāba (of) his people qawmihi except illā that an they said qālū Drive out akhrijū (the) family āla (of) Lut lūṭin from min your town qaryatikum Indeed, they innahum (are) people unāsun who keep clean and pure yataṭahharūna
But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ So We saved him fa-anjaynāhu and his family wa-ahlahu except illā his wife im'ra-atahu We destined her qaddarnāhā (to be) of mina those who remained behind l-ghābirīna
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.
وَأَمْطَرْنَا And We rained wa-amṭarnā upon them ʿalayhim a rain maṭaran and was evil fasāa (the) rain maṭaru (on) those who were warned l-mundharīna
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
قُلِ Say quli All praise (be) l-ḥamdu to Allah lillahi and peace (be) wasalāmun upon ʿalā His slaves ʿibādihi those whom alladhīna He has chosen iṣ'ṭafā Is Allah āllahu better khayrun or what ammā they associate (with Him) yush'rikūna
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"
أَمَّنْ Or Who amman has created khalaqa the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍa and sent down wa-anzala for you lakum from mina the sky l-samāi water māan And We caused to grow fa-anbatnā thereby bihi gardens ḥadāiqa of beauty (and delight) dhāta of beauty (and delight) bahjatin not mā it is kāna for you lakum that an you cause to grow tunbitū their trees shajarahā Is there any god a-ilāhun with maʿa Allah l-lahi Nay bal they hum (are) a people qawmun who ascribe equals yaʿdilūna
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].
أَمَّن Or Who amman made jaʿala the earth l-arḍa a firm abode qarāran and made wajaʿala (in) its midst khilālahā rivers anhāran and made wajaʿala for it lahā firm mountains rawāsiya and made wajaʿala between bayna the two seas l-baḥrayni a barrier ḥājizan Is there any god a-ilāhun with maʿa Allah l-lahi Nay bal most of them aktharuhum (do) not lā know yaʿlamūna
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.
أَمَّن Or Who amman responds yujību (to) the distressed one l-muḍ'ṭara when idhā he calls Him daʿāhu and He removes wayakshifu the evil l-sūa and makes you wayajʿalukum inheritors khulafāa (of) the earth l-arḍi Is there any god a-ilāhun with maʿa Allah l-lahi Little qalīlan (is) what mā you remember tadhakkarūna
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Little do you remember.
أَمَّن Or Who amman guides you yahdīkum in fī (the) darkness[es] ẓulumāti (of) the land l-bari and the sea wal-baḥri and Who waman sends yur'silu the winds l-riyāḥa (as) glad tidings bush'ran before bayna before yaday His Mercy raḥmatihi Is there any god a-ilāhun with maʿa Allah l-lahi High is taʿālā Allah l-lahu above what ʿammā they associate (with Him) yush'rikūna
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allāh? High is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.
أَمَّن Or Who amman originates yabda-u the creation l-khalqa then thumma repeats it yuʿīduhu and Who waman provides you yarzuqukum from mina the heavens l-samāi and the earth wal-arḍi Is there any god a-ilāhun with maʿa Allah l-lahi Say qul Bring forth hātū your proof bur'hānakum if in you are kuntum truthful ṣādiqīna
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."
قُل Say qul No (one) lā knows yaʿlamu whoever man (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi (of) the unseen l-ghayba except illā Allah l-lahu and not wamā they perceive yashʿurūna when ayyāna they will be resurrected yub'ʿathūna
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allāh, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."
بَلِ Nay bali is arrested iddāraka their knowledge ʿil'muhum of fī the Hereafter l-ākhirati Nay bal they hum (are) in fī doubt shakkin about it min'hā Nay bal they hum about it min'hā (are) blind ʿamūna
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.
وَقَالَ And say waqāla those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū What, when a-idhā we have become kunnā dust turāban and our forefathers waābāunā will we a-innā surely be brought out lamukh'rajūna
