يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا O you who believe yāayyuhā O you who believe alladhīna O you who believe āmanū Let ask your permission liyastadhinkumu those whom alladhīna possess malakat your right hands aymānukum and those who wa-alladhīna (have) not lam reached yablughū puberty l-ḥuluma among you minkum (at) three thalātha times marrātin before min before qabli (the) prayer ṣalati (of) dawn l-fajri and when waḥīna you put aside taḍaʿūna your garments thiyābakum at mina noon l-ẓahīrati and after wamin and after baʿdi (the) prayer ṣalati (of) night l-ʿishāi (These) three thalāthu (are) times of privacy ʿawrātin for you lakum Not laysa on you ʿalaykum and not walā on them ʿalayhim any blame junāḥun after that baʿdahunna (as) moving about ṭawwāfūna among you ʿalaykum some of you baʿḍukum among ʿalā others baʿḍin Thus kadhālika Allah makes clear yubayyinu Allah makes clear l-lahu for you lakumu the Verses l-āyāti and Allah wal-lahu (is) All-Knower ʿalīmun All-Wise ḥakīmun
O you who have believed, let those whom your right hands possess and those who have not [yet] reached puberty among you ask permission of you [before entering] at three times: before the dawn prayer and when you put aside your clothing [for rest] at noon and after the night prayer. [These are] three times of privacy1 for you. There is no blame upon you nor upon them beyond these [periods], for they continually circulate among you - some of you, among others. Thus does Allāh make clear to you the verses [i.e., His ordinances]; and Allāh is Knowing and Wise.
