قَالَ He said qāla You believe āmantum [to] him lahu before qabla [that] an I gave permission ādhana to you lakum Indeed, he innahu (is) your chief lakabīrukumu the one who alladhī taught you ʿallamakumu the magic l-siḥ'ra So surely I will cut off fala-uqaṭṭiʿanna your hands aydiyakum and your feet wa-arjulakum of min opposite sides khilāfin and surely I will crucify you wala-uṣallibannakum on fī (the) trunks judhūʿi (of) date-palms l-nakhli and surely you will know walataʿlamunna which of us ayyunā (is) more severe ashaddu (in) punishment ʿadhāban and more lasting wa-abqā
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in [giving] punishment and more enduring."
قَالُوا۟ They said qālū Never lan we will prefer you nu'thiraka over ʿalā what mā has come to us jāanā of mina the clear proofs l-bayināti and the One Who wa-alladhī created us faṭaranā So decree fa-iq'ḍi whatever mā you anta (are) decreeing qāḍin Only innamā you can decree taqḍī (for) this hādhihi life l-ḥayata (of) the world l-dun'yā
They said, "Never will we prefer you over what has come to us of clear proofs and [over] He who created us. So decree whatever you are to decree. You can only decree for this worldly life.
إِنَّآ Indeed, [we] innā we believe āmannā in our Lord birabbinā that He may forgive liyaghfira for us lanā our sins khaṭāyānā and what wamā you compelled us akrahtanā on it ʿalayhi of mina the magic l-siḥ'ri And Allah wal-lahu (is) Best khayrun and Ever Lasting wa-abqā
Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us [to do] of magic. And Allāh is better and more enduring."
