۞ وَتَرَى And you (might) have seen watarā the sun l-shamsa when idhā it rose ṭalaʿat inclining away tazāwaru from ʿan their cave kahfihim to dhāta the right l-yamīni and when wa-idhā it set gharabat passing away from them taqriḍuhum to dhāta the left l-shimāli while they wahum (lay) in fī the open space fajwatin thereof min'hu That dhālika (was) from min (the) Signs āyāti (of) Allah l-lahi Whoever man Allah guides yahdi Allah guides l-lahu and he fahuwa (is) the guided one l-muh'tadi and whoever waman He lets go astray yuḍ'lil then never falan you will find tajida for him lahu a protector waliyyan a guide mur'shidan
And [had you been present], you would see the sun when it rose, inclining away from their cave on the right, and when it set, passing away from them on the left, while they were [lying] within an open space thereof. That was from the signs of Allāh. He whom Allāh guides is the [rightly] guided, but he whom He sends astray - never will you find for him a protecting guide.
