ثُمَّ Then thumma he followed atbaʿa (a) course sababan
Then he followed a way
حَتَّىٰٓ Until ḥattā when idhā he reached balagha (the) rising place maṭliʿa (of) the sun l-shamsi and he found it wajadahā rising taṭluʿu on ʿalā a community qawmin not lam We made najʿal for them lahum against it min against it dūnihā any shelter sit'ran
Until, when he came to the rising of the sun [i.e., the east], he found it rising on a people for whom We had not made against it any shield.
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika And verily waqad We encompassed aḥaṭnā of what bimā (was) with him ladayhi (of the) information khub'ran
Thus. And We had encompassed [all] that he had in knowledge.
