فَٱنطَلَقَا So they both set out fa-inṭalaqā until ḥattā when idhā they had embarked rakibā on fī the ship l-safīnati he made a hole in it kharaqahā He said qāla Have you made a hole in it akharaqtahā to drown litugh'riqa its people ahlahā Certainly laqad you have done ji'ta a thing shayan grave im'ran
So they set out, until when they had embarked on the ship, he [i.e., al-Khiḍr] tore it open. [Moses] said, "Have you torn it open to drown its people? You have certainly done a grave thing."
قَالَ He said qāla Did not alam I say aqul indeed, you innaka never lan will be able tastaṭīʿa with me maʿiya (to have) patience ṣabran
[Al-Khiḍr] said, "Did I not say that with me you would never be able to have patience?"
قَالَ He said qāla (Do) not lā blame me tuākhidh'nī for what bimā I forgot nasītu and (do) not walā be hard (upon) me tur'hiq'nī in min my affair amrī (raising) difficulty ʿus'ran
[Moses] said, "Do not blame me for what I forgot and do not overwhelm me in my matter with difficulty."
