مَّثَلُ (The) example mathalu (of) those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū in their Lord birabbihim their deeds aʿmāluhum (are) like ashes karamādin blows furiously ish'taddat on it bihi the wind l-rīḥu in fī a day yawmin stormy ʿāṣifin No lā control (they have) yaqdirūna of what mimmā they have earned kasabū on ʿalā anything shayin That dhālika [it] huwa (is) the straying l-ḍalālu far l-baʿīdu
The example of those who disbelieve in their Lord is [that] their deeds are like ashes which the wind blows forcefully on a stormy day; they are unable [to keep] from what they earned a [single] thing. That is what is extreme error.
