الٓمٓر ۚ Alif Laam Mim Ra alif-lam-meem-ra These til'ka (are) the Verses āyātu (of) the Book l-kitābi And that which wa-alladhī has been revealed unzila to you ilayka from min your Lord rabbika (is) the truth l-ḥaqu but walākinna most akthara (of) the mankind l-nāsi (do) not lā believe yu'minūna
Alif, Lām, Meem, Rā.1 These are the verses of the Book; and what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most of the people do not believe.
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu (is) the One Who alladhī raised rafaʿa the heavens l-samāwāti without bighayri pillars ʿamadin that you see tarawnahā then thumma He established is'tawā on ʿalā the Throne l-ʿarshi and subjected wasakhara the sun l-shamsa and the moon wal-qamara each kullun running yajrī for a term li-ajalin appointed musamman He arranges yudabbiru the matter l-amra He details yufaṣṣilu the Signs l-āyāti so that you may laʿallakum in the meeting biliqāi (with) your Lord rabbikum believe with certainty tūqinūna
It is Allāh who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He established Himself above the Throne1 and made subject2 the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain.
وَهُوَ And He wahuwa (is) the One Who alladhī spread madda the earth l-arḍa and placed wajaʿala in it fīhā firm mountains rawāsiya and rivers wa-anhāran and from wamin all kulli (of) the fruits l-thamarāti He made jaʿala in it fīhā pairs zawjayni two ith'nayni He covers yugh'shī the night al-layla (with) the day l-nahāra Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely (are) Signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who ponder yatafakkarūna
And it is He who spread the earth and placed therein firmly set mountains and rivers; and from all of the fruits He made therein two mates; He causes the night to cover the day. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
وَفِى And in wafī the earth l-arḍi are tracks qiṭaʿun neighboring mutajāwirātun and gardens wajannātun of min grapevines aʿnābin and crops wazarʿun and date-palms wanakhīlun trees (growing) from a single root ṣin'wānun and not waghayru trees (growing) from a single root ṣin'wānin watered yus'qā with water bimāin one wāḥidin but We cause to exceed wanufaḍḍilu some of them baʿḍahā over ʿalā others baʿḍin in fī the fruit l-ukuli Indeed inna in fī that dhālika surely (are) Signs laāyātin for a people liqawmin who use reason yaʿqilūna
And within the land are neighboring plots and gardens of grapevines and crops and palm trees, [growing] several from a root or otherwise,1 watered with one water; but We make some of them exceed others in [quality of] fruit. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.
۞ وَإِن And if wa-in you (are) astonished taʿjab then astonishing faʿajabun (is) their saying qawluhum When a-idhā we are kunnā dust turāban will we a-innā (be) indeed, in lafī a creation khalqin new jadīdin Those ulāika (are) the ones who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū in their Lord birabbihim and those wa-ulāika the iron chains l-aghlālu (will be) in fī their necks aʿnāqihim those wa-ulāika (are the) companions aṣḥābu (of) the Fire l-nāri they hum in it fīhā (will) abide forever khālidūna
And if you are astonished,1 [O Muḥammad] - then astonishing is their saying, "When we are dust, will we indeed be [brought] into a new creation?" Those are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have shackles2 upon their necks, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ And they ask you to hasten wayastaʿjilūnaka the evil bil-sayi-ati before qabla the good l-ḥasanati and verily waqad has occurred khalat from min before them qablihimu [the] similar punishments l-mathulātu And indeed wa-inna your Lord rabbaka (is) full ladhū (of) forgiveness maghfiratin for mankind lilnnāsi for ʿalā their wrongdoing ẓul'mihim and indeed wa-inna your Lord rabbaka (is) severe lashadīdu (in) the penalty l-ʿiqābi
They impatiently urge you to bring about evil before good,1 while there has already occurred before them similar punishments [to what they demand]. And indeed, your Lord is the possessor of forgiveness for the people despite their wrongdoing, and indeed, your Lord is severe in penalty.
وَيَقُولُ And say wayaqūlu those who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū Why not lawlā has been sent down unzila to him ʿalayhi a sign āyatun from min his Lord rabbihi Only innamā you anta (are) a warner mundhirun and for every walikulli people qawmin (is) a guide hādin
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" You are only a warner, and for every people is a guide.
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu knows yaʿlamu what mā carries taḥmilu every kullu female unthā and what wamā fall short taghīḍu the womb l-arḥāmu and what wamā they exceed tazdādu And every wakullu thing shayin with Him ʿindahu (is) in due proportion bimiq'dārin
Allāh knows what every female carries1 and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed.2 And everything with Him is by due measure.
عَـٰلِمُ Knower ʿālimu (of) the unseen l-ghaybi and the witnessed wal-shahādati the Most Great l-kabīru the Most High l-mutaʿāli
[He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted.
سَوَآءٌۭ (It is) same (to Him) sawāon [of you] minkum (one) who man conceals asarra the speech l-qawla or (one) who waman publicizes jahara it bihi and (one) who waman [he] huwa (is) hidden mus'takhfin by night bi-al-layli or goes freely wasāribun by day bil-nahāri
It is the same [to Him] concerning you whether one conceals [his] speech or publicizes it and whether one is hidden by night or conspicuous [among others] by day.
لَهُۥ For him lahu (are) successive (Angels) muʿaqqibātun from min (before) bayni (him) yadayhi and from wamin and behind him khalfihi who guard him yaḥfaẓūnahu by min (the) command amri (of) Allah l-lahi Indeed inna Allah l-laha (does) not lā change yughayyiru (the condition) mā of a people biqawmin until ḥattā they change yughayyirū what mā (is) in themselves bi-anfusihim And when wa-idhā wills arāda Allah l-lahu for a people biqawmin misfortune sūan then (there is) no falā turning away maradda of it lahu and not wamā for them lahum from min besides Him dūnihi any min protector wālin
For him [i.e., each one] are successive [angels]1 before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allāh.2 Indeed, Allāh will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allāh intends for a people ill,3 there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.
هُوَ He huwa (is) the One Who alladhī shows you yurīkumu the lightning l-barqa a fear khawfan and a hope waṭamaʿan and brings up wayunshi-u the clouds l-saḥāba the heavy l-thiqāla
It is He who shows you lightning, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds.
وَيُسَبِّحُ And glorifies wayusabbiḥu the thunder l-raʿdu with his praise biḥamdihi and the Angels wal-malāikatu for min fear of Him khīfatihi And He sends wayur'silu the thunderbolts l-ṣawāʿiqa and strikes fayuṣību with it bihā whom man He wills yashāu yet they wahum dispute yujādilūna about fī Allah l-lahi And He wahuwa (is) Mighty shadīdu (in) Strength l-miḥāli
And the thunder exalts [Allāh] with praise of Him - and the angels [as well] from fear of Him - and He sends thunderbolts and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about Allāh; and He is severe in assault.
لَهُۥ To Him lahu (is) supplication daʿwatu (of) the truth l-ḥaqi And those whom wa-alladhīna they invoke yadʿūna besides Him min besides Him dūnihi not lā they respond yastajībūna to them lahum with a thing bishayin except illā like one who stretches kabāsiṭi his hands kaffayhi towards ilā water l-māi to reach liyablugha his mouth fāhu but not wamā it huwa reaches it bibālighihi And not wamā (is) the supplication duʿāu (of) the disbelievers l-kāfirīna but illā in fī error ḍalālin
To Him [alone] is the supplication of truth. And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus].1 And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e., futility].
وَلِلَّهِ And to Allah walillahi prostrates yasjudu whoever man (is) in fī the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi willingly ṭawʿan or unwillingly wakarhan and (so do) their shadows waẓilāluhum in the mornings bil-ghuduwi and in the afternoons wal-āṣāli
And to Allāh prostrates whoever is within the heavens and the earth, willingly or by compulsion, and their shadows [as well] in the mornings and the afternoons.
قُلْ Say qul Who man (is) the Lord rabbu (of) the heavens l-samāwāti and the earth wal-arḍi Say quli Allah l-lahu Say qul Have you then taken afa-ittakhadhtum from min besides Him dūnihi protectors awliyāa not lā they have power yamlikūna for themselves li-anfusihim (to) benefit nafʿan and not walā (to) harm ḍarran Say qul Is hal equal yastawī the blind l-aʿmā and the seeing wal-baṣīru Or am is hal equal tastawī the darkness[es] l-ẓulumātu and the light wal-nūru Or am they attribute jaʿalū to Allah lillahi partners shurakāa who created khalaqū like His creation kakhalqihi so that seemed alike fatashābaha the creation l-khalqu to them ʿalayhim Say quli Allah l-lahu (is) the Creator khāliqu of all kulli things shayin and He wahuwa (is) the One l-wāḥidu the Irresistible l-qahāru
Say, "Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?" Say, "Allāh." Say, "Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?" Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allāh partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?"1 Say, "Allāh is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing."2
أَنزَلَ He sends down anzala from mina the sky l-samāi water māan and flows fasālat the valleys awdiyatun according to their measure biqadarihā and carries fa-iḥ'tamala the torrent l-saylu a foam zabadan rising rābiyan And from what wamimmā they heat yūqidūna [on] it ʿalayhi in fī the fire l-nāri in order to make ib'tighāa ornaments ḥil'yatin or aw utensils matāʿin a foam zabadun like it mith'luhu Thus kadhālika sets forth yaḍribu Allah l-lahu the truth l-ḥaqa and the falsehood wal-bāṭila Then as for fa-ammā the foam l-zabadu it passes away fayadhhabu (as) scum jufāan and as for wa-ammā what mā benefits yanfaʿu the mankind l-nāsa remains fayamkuthu in fī the earth l-arḍi Thus kadhālika Allah sets forth yaḍribu Allah sets forth l-lahu the examples l-amthāla
He sends down from the sky, rain, and valleys flow according to their capacity, and the torrent carries a rising foam. And from that [ore] which they heat in the fire, desiring adornments and utensils, is a foam like it. Thus Allāh presents [the example of] truth and falsehood. As for the foam, it vanishes, [being] cast off; but as for that which benefits the people, it remains on the earth. Thus does Allāh present examples.
لِلَّذِينَ For those who lilladhīna responded is'tajābū to their Lord lirabbihimu (is) the bliss l-ḥus'nā And for those who wa-alladhīna (did) not lam respond yastajībū to Him lahu if law that anna they had lahum whatever mā (is) in fī the earth l-arḍi all jamīʿan and like of it wamith'lahu with it maʿahu surely they would offer ransom la-if'tadaw with it bihi Those ulāika for them lahum (is) a terrible sūu reckoning l-ḥisābi and their abode wamawāhum (is) Hell jahannamu and wretched wabi'sa (is) the resting place l-mihādu
For those who have responded to their Lord is the best [reward], but those who did not respond to Him - if they had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby. Those will have the worst account, and their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.
۞ أَفَمَن Then is (he) who afaman knows yaʿlamu that which annamā has been revealed unzila to you ilayka from min your Lord rabbika (is) the truth l-ḥaqu like (one) who kaman [he] huwa (is) blind aʿmā Only innamā pay heed yatadhakkaru men ulū (of) understanding l-albābi
Then is he who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth like one who is blind? They will only be reminded who are people of understanding -
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna fulfill yūfūna the covenant biʿahdi (of) Allah l-lahi and not walā they break yanquḍūna the contract l-mīthāqa
Those who fulfill the covenant of Allāh and do not break the contract,
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna join yaṣilūna what mā (has been) commanded amara (by) Allah l-lahu [for it] bihi to an be joined yūṣala and fear wayakhshawna their Lord rabbahum and are afraid wayakhāfūna (of) the evil sūa the account l-ḥisābi
And those who join that which Allāh has ordered to be joined1 and fear their Lord and are afraid of the evil of [their] account,
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna (are) patient ṣabarū seeking ib'tighāa (the) Face wajhi (of) their Lord rabbihim and establish wa-aqāmū the prayer l-ṣalata and spend wa-anfaqū from what mimmā We have provided them razaqnāhum secretly sirran and publicly waʿalāniyatan and they repel wayadraūna with the good bil-ḥasanati the evil l-sayi-ata those ulāika for them lahum (is) the final attainment ʿuq'bā (of) the Home l-dāri
And those who are patient, seeking the face [i.e., acceptance] of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home1 -
جَنَّـٰتُ Gardens jannātu of Eden ʿadnin they will enter them yadkhulūnahā and whoever waman (were) righteous ṣalaḥa among min their fathers ābāihim and their spouses wa-azwājihim and their offsprings wadhurriyyātihim And the Angels wal-malāikatu will enter yadkhulūna upon them ʿalayhim from min every kulli gate bābin
Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],
سَلَـٰمٌ (Saying), "Peace salāmun (be) upon you ʿalaykum for what bimā you patiently endured ṣabartum And excellent faniʿ'ma (is) the final attainment ʿuq'bā (of) the Home l-dāri
"Peace [i.e., security] be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home."
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those who wa-alladhīna break yanquḍūna the covenant ʿahda (of) Allah l-lahi from min after baʿdi contracting it mīthāqihi and sever wayaqṭaʿūna what mā (has been) commanded amara (by) Allah l-lahu for it bihi to an be joined yūṣala and spread corruption wayuf'sidūna in fī the earth l-arḍi Those ulāika for them lahumu (is) the curse l-laʿnatu and for them walahum (is) an evil sūu home l-dāri
But those who break the covenant of Allāh after contracting it and sever that which Allāh has ordered to be joined and spread corruption on earth - for them is the curse, and they will have the worst home.1
ٱللَّهُ Allah al-lahu extends yabsuṭu the provision l-riz'qa for whom liman He wills yashāu and restricts wayaqdiru And they rejoice wafariḥū in the life bil-ḥayati (of) the world l-dun'yā and nothing wamā (is) the life l-ḥayatu of the world l-dun'yā in (comparison to) fī the Hereafter l-ākhirati except illā an enjoyment matāʿun
Allāh extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.
وَيَقُولُ And say wayaqūlu those who alladhīna disbelieved kafarū Why has not lawlā been sent down unzila upon him ʿalayhi a Sign āyatun from min his Lord rabbihi Say qul Indeed inna Allah l-laha lets go astray yuḍillu whom man He wills yashāu and guides wayahdī to Himself ilayhi whoever man turns back anāba
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, Allāh leaves astray whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him] -
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna believed āmanū and find satisfaction wataṭma-innu their hearts qulūbuhum in the remembrance bidhik'ri (of) Allah l-lahi No doubt alā in the remembrance bidhik'ri (of) Allah l-lahi find satisfaction taṭma-innu the hearts l-qulūbu
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allāh. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allāh hearts are assured."
ٱلَّذِينَ Those who alladhīna believed āmanū and did waʿamilū righteous deeds l-ṣāliḥāti blessedness ṭūbā (is) for them lahum and a beautiful waḥus'nu place of return maābin
Those who have believed and done righteous deeds - a good state is theirs and a good return.
كَذَٰلِكَ Thus kadhālika We have sent you arsalnāka to fī a nation ummatin verily qad have passed away khalat from min before it qablihā nations umamun so that you might recite litatluwā to them ʿalayhimu what alladhī We revealed awḥaynā to you ilayka while they wahum disbelieve yakfurūna in the Most Gracious bil-raḥmāni Say qul He huwa (is) my Lord rabbī (there is) no lā god ilāha except illā Him huwa Upon Him ʿalayhi I put my trust tawakkaltu and to Him wa-ilayhi (is) my return matābi
Thus have We sent you to a community before which [other] communities have passed on so you might recite to them that which We revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Merciful. Say, "He is my Lord; there is no deity except Him. Upon Him I rely, and to Him is my return."
وَلَوْ And if walaw that was anna any Quran qur'ānan could be moved suyyirat by it bihi the mountains l-jibālu or aw could be cloven asunder quṭṭiʿat by it bihi the earth l-arḍu or aw could be made to speak kullima by it bihi the dead l-mawtā Nay bal with Allah lillahi (is) the command l-amru all jamīʿan Then do not afalam know yāy'asi those who alladhīna believe āmanū that an if law had willed yashāu Allah l-lahu surely, He would have guided lahadā all l-nāsa all of the mankind jamīʿan And not walā will cease yazālu those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū to strike them tuṣībuhum for what bimā they did ṣanaʿū a disaster qāriʿatun or aw it settles taḥullu close qarīban from min their homes dārihim until ḥattā comes yatiya (the) promise waʿdu (of) Allah l-lahi Indeed inna Allah l-laha (will) not lā fail yukh'lifu (in) the Promise l-mīʿāda
And if there was any Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] by which the mountains would be removed or the earth would be broken apart or the dead would be made to speak,1 [it would be this Qur’ān], but to Allāh belongs the affair entirely. Then have those who believed not accepted that had Allāh willed, He would have guided the people, all of them? And those who disbelieve do not cease to be struck, for what they have done, by calamity - or it will descend near their home - until there comes the promise of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh does not fail in [His] promise.
وَلَقَدِ And certainly walaqadi were mocked us'tuh'zi-a Messengers birusulin from min before you qablika but I granted respite fa-amlaytu to those who lilladhīna disbelieved kafarū then thumma I seized them akhadhtuhum and how fakayfa was kāna My penalty ʿiqābi
And already were [other] messengers ridiculed before you, and I extended the time of those who disbelieved; then I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.
أَفَمَنْ Is then He Who afaman (He) huwa (is) a Maintainer qāimun of ʿalā every kulli soul nafsin for what bimā it has earned kasabat Yet they ascribe wajaʿalū to Allah lillahi partners shurakāa Say qul Name them sammūhum Or am (do) you inform Him tunabbiūnahu of what bimā not lā He knows yaʿlamu in fī the earth l-arḍi or am of the apparent biẓāhirin of mina the words l-qawli Nay bal (is) made fair-seeming zuyyina to those who lilladhīna disbelieve kafarū their plotting makruhum and they are hindered waṣuddū from ʿani the Path l-sabīli And whoever waman (by) Allah yuḍ'lili Allah lets go astray l-lahu then not famā for him lahu any min guide hādin
Then is He who is a maintainer of every soul, [knowing] what it has earned, [like any other]? But to Allāh they have attributed partners. Say, "Name them. Or do you inform Him of that1 which He knows not upon the earth or of what is apparent [i.e., alleged] of speech?"2 Rather, their [own] plan has been made attractive to those who disbelieve, and they have been averted from the way. And whomever Allāh sends astray - there will be for him no guide.
لَّهُمْ For them lahum (is) a punishment ʿadhābun in fī the life l-ḥayati (of) the world l-dun'yā and surely the punishment walaʿadhābu (of) the Hereafter l-ākhirati (is) harder ashaqqu And not wamā for them lahum against mina Allah l-lahi any min defender wāqin
For them will be punishment in the life of [this] world, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe. And they will not have from Allāh any protector.
۞ مَّثَلُ The example mathalu of Paradise l-janati which allatī (is) promised wuʿida (to) the righteous l-mutaqūna flows tajrī from min underneath it taḥtihā the rivers l-anhāru Its food ukuluhā (is) everlasting dāimun and its shade waẓilluhā This til'ka (is the) end ʿuq'bā of those who alladhīna (are) righteous ittaqaw and (the) end waʿuq'bā (of) the disbelievers l-kāfirīna (is) the Fire l-nāru
The example [i.e., description] of Paradise, which the righteous have been promised, is [that] beneath it rivers flow. Its fruit is lasting, and its shade. That is the consequence for the righteous, and the consequence for the disbelievers is the Fire.
وَٱلَّذِينَ And those (to) whom wa-alladhīna We have given them ātaynāhumu the Book l-kitāba rejoice yafraḥūna at what bimā has been revealed unzila to you ilayka but among wamina the groups l-aḥzābi (those) who man deny yunkiru a part of it baʿḍahu Say qul Only innamā I have been commanded umir'tu that an I worship aʿbuda Allah l-laha and not walā I associate partners ush'rika with Him bihi To Him ilayhi I call adʿū and to Him wa-ilayhi (is) my return maābi
And [the believers among] those to whom We have given the [previous] Scripture rejoice at what has been revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], but among the [opposing] factions are those who deny part of it [i.e., the Qur’ān]. Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allāh and not associate [anything] with Him. To Him I invite, and to Him is my return."
وَكَذَٰلِكَ And thus wakadhālika We have revealed it anzalnāhu (to be) a judgment of authority ḥuk'man (in) Arabic ʿarabiyyan And if wala-ini you follow ittabaʿta their desires ahwāahum after what baʿdamā came to you jāaka of mina the knowledge l-ʿil'mi not mā for you laka against mina Allah l-lahi any min protector waliyyin and not walā defender wāqin
And thus We have revealed it as an Arabic legislation.1 And if you should follow their inclinations after what has come to you of knowledge, you would not have against Allāh any ally or any protector.
وَلَقَدْ And certainly walaqad We sent arsalnā Messengers rusulan from min before you qablika and We made wajaʿalnā for them lahum wives azwājan and offspring wadhurriyyatan And not wamā was kāna for a Messenger lirasūlin that an he comes yatiya with a sign biāyatin except illā by the leave bi-idh'ni (of) Allah l-lahi For everything likulli (is) a time ajalin prescribed kitābun
And We have already sent messengers before you and assigned to them wives and descendants. And it was not for a messenger to come with a sign except by permission of Allāh. For every term is a decree.
يَمْحُوا۟ (Is) eliminated yamḥū (by) Allah l-lahu what mā He wills yashāu and confirms wayuth'bitu and with Him waʿindahu (is) the Mother (of) the Book ummu (is) the Mother (of) the Book l-kitābi
Allāh eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.1
وَإِن And whether wa-in (what) mā We show you nuriyannaka a part baʿḍa (of) what alladhī We have promised them naʿiduhum or aw We cause you to die natawaffayannaka so only fa-innamā on you ʿalayka (is) the conveyance l-balāghu and on Us waʿalaynā (is) the reckoning l-ḥisābu
And whether We show you part of what We promise them or take you in death, upon you is only the [duty of] notification, and upon Us is the account.
أَوَلَمْ Did not awalam they see yaraw that We annā come natī (to) the land l-arḍa reducing it nanquṣuhā from min its borders aṭrāfihā And Allah wal-lahu judges yaḥkumu (there is) no lā adjuster muʿaqqiba (of) His Judgment liḥuk'mihi And He wahuwa (is) Swift sarīʿu (in) the reckoning l-ḥisābi
Have they not seen that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders?1 And Allāh decides; there is no adjuster of His decision. And He is swift in account.
وَقَدْ And certainly waqad plotted makara those who alladhīna (were) from min before them qablihim but for Allah falillahi (is) the plot l-makru all jamīʿan He knows yaʿlamu what mā earns taksibu every kullu soul nafsin and will know wasayaʿlamu the disbelievers l-kufāru for whom liman (is) the final ʿuq'bā the home l-dāri
And those before them had plotted, but to Allāh belongs the plan entirely. He knows what every soul earns, and the disbelievers will know for whom is the final home.
وَيَقُولُ And say wayaqūlu those who alladhīna disbelieve kafarū You are not lasta a Messenger mur'salan Say qul Sufficient kafā (is) Allah bil-lahi (as) a Witness shahīdan between me baynī and between you wabaynakum and whoever waman [he] has ʿindahu knowledge ʿil'mu (of) the Book l-kitābi
And those who have disbelieved say, "You are not a messenger." Say, [O Muḥammad], "Sufficient is Allāh as Witness between me and you, and [the witness of] whoever has knowledge of the Scripture."1
