What is Umrah?

Umrah is the “minor pilgrimage”, performed in Makkah, that can be done my Muslims at any time of the year. This is contrary to Hajj, as Hajj is limited to between the 8th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Hijri calendar. This pilgrimage is optional, but a highly encouraged Sunnah (Practice/Teaching) of the Prophet ﷺ.
